TM collaborates with Huawei to accelerate digital transformation of enterprise and public sectors in Malaysia
Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) through its business solutions arm, TM ONE, recently inked a Memorandum of Collaboration (MoC) with Huawei. This MoC is in pursuant to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between TM and Huawei in March 2018 which outlined the various initiatives between the Parties to promote innovation, develop go-to-market strategies, enhance skills and capabilities as well as to improve each other's products and services. As both TM ONE and Huawei intend to play a more proactive developmental role in providing ready infrastructure and ecosystem to support the nation's growth, specifically to further address digital transformation opportunities in the enterprise and public sectors in Malaysia, this collaboration would allow both companies to further accelerate the upcoming digital transformation era amongst Malaysians by leveraging on the combined strengths and capabilities of each other.
The MoC was signed by both companies during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) Shanghai 2019.
Commenting on the collaboration, Dato' Noor Kamarul Anuar Nuruddin, Group Chief Executive Officer of TM said, "We are excited to be working hand in hand with a leading global name such as Huawei in a strategic partnership programme aimed at addressing the digital transformation opportunities in the enterprise and public sector in Malaysia. Meanwhile, Tian Feng, the member of Huawei Supervisory Board/Senior Vice President said: "Today collaboration between TM ONE and Huawei is further deepened on the basis of last year strategy partnership MoU, and it will help both companies to advance into the future. This collaboration is based on long-term mutual trust between the two organisations and more importantly, complement technology capabilities and strategy for both parties in the enterprise business market. Huawei is confident that it can leverage its advanced technologies such as cloud computing, Big Data, Internet of Things (IoTs), and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to complement TM ONE's venture into the market.
Under the MoC, both parties agreed to jointly promote cooperation through a possible joint account planning and mapping exercise of available opportunities, future joint solutioning as well as joint creation of customer value proposition. The focus will be on enterprise segments such as Energy & Utilities, Oil & Gas, Transportation, Public Sector, Education, Manufacturing, Commercial and/or Real Estate in the areas of, amongst other, Cloud, Network, Storage, High Performance Computing, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet-of-Things (IoTs) and Software Defined Network.

TM One will provide operational security capabilities for monitoring and incident response, while SIRIM Academy will deliver professional certification programmes aligning with standards requirements and national frameworks. To ensure compliance, organisations can further leverage TM One’s Managed Security Services including its Security Operations Centre (SOC), Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), Managed Detection and Response (MDR), and Threat Intelligence, which offers continuous protection. The agreement also facilitates joint go-to-market opportunities, with TM One or SIRIM Academy leading client engagements as needed. The collaboration was formally made through an exchange of documents between Shanti Jusnita Johari, TM One’s Executive Vice President, and Dr. Mohd Bakri bin Jali, SIRIM Academy’s Chief Executive Officer (Covering), symbolising the start of a shared commitment to advance Malaysia’s digital trust and governance. TM One securing trust in digital transactions via blockchain technology for Indonesian market
PT VADS Indonesia to become the sole distributor of FNSV Blockchain Secure Authentication (BSA) products and solutions for the Indonesian market. The strategic partnership affirms TM One's commitment and readiness to take the digital transformation of enterprise and public sector forward for Malaysia and Indonesia. TM One, the enterprise and public sector business solutions arm of Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM), together with PT VADS Indonesia, a wholly subsidiary company of TM ONE, recently inked a business agreement with FNS Value Co., Limited (FNSV) from Korea, to appoint PT VADS as the sole distributor of Blockchain Secure Authentication (BSA) solution for the Indonesian market. The signing ceremony was conducted virtually and the documents were signed using TM One Digital Signature Solution (TMODS). It is a certified online signing platform, compliant to Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) Digital Signature Act 1997, making the document legally-binding and recognised by Malaysian court of law. Signing on behalf TM One was Ahmad Taufek Omar, Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of TM One and PT VADS was represented by Saravanan Belusami, Chief Executive Officer of PT VADS while FNSV was represented by JEON Seung Ju, its Chief Executive Officer. Commenting on the partnership, Ahmad Taufek said, “This is a significant partnership for our subsidiary PT VADS as we further make our stamp in providing advanced managed security services to our customers in Indonesia. According to the MoU, Huawei will share its extensive global best practices to help TM capitalise emerging opportunities quickly through big data aided network design and deployment, intelligent Smart Capex solution to respond fast to TM customer needs, and simplify business engagement between both organisations via inter-connecting IT processes. Through this strategic partnership, TM aspires to pursue the innovation and commercialisation of technology which includes Internet of Things (IoTs), cloud technology and artificial intelligence towards delivering digital experience to more Malaysians nationwide. TM will also explore alternative wireless technology deployment to further expand high speed broadband reach across Malaysia; bridging the digital divide and meeting the Government’s objective of a truly connected society.
