​Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) announced the appointment of Krish Datta, an established regional technology leader, as Executive Vice President of Digital Services. Krish brings deep expertise in building technology businesses from infancy to regional leadership alongside a broad, diverse set of experiences and skills to the newly created role.

He is a proven technology executive who has been instrumental in building and leading technology companies,” said Imri Mokhtar, Group CEO of TM. “In this new role, Krish will deepen our commitment and ability to enable our Enterprise and Public Sector customers’ digital transformation as we help them improve and accelerate every area of their business with simplicity and confidence.

With over 34 years of technology industry experience, Krish has built and led several enterprise technology-based businesses across ASEAN, India, Japan, Australia, and the Middle East. He is a passionate business and people leader who has demonstrated a successful track record in Asia with well-established global MNCs and start-up companies.

Krish was in SAP Asia Pacific for over 16 years holding various leadership positions. He established SAP in Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam and went on to hold the position of President, SAP Southeast Asia, responsible for all aspects of the business from sales, marketing, sales operations, presales, partner and eco-system, finance, support, HR, and consulting.  

Upon leaving SAP in 2011, he started a Goldman Sachs-backed data management services and software provider, Back Office Associates (now known as Syniti) in Asia Pacific, Japan, and Middle East region as its CEO. He went on to build the business over the next eight years and exited after building a manicured business, including key technology and delivery capabilities which included global delivery centres in India, Philippines, and P&L across nine countries.

He became the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Xampr which started a no-code low-code mobile platform for mobile application development, focusing on integration, last-mile process and flexible template-based workflow and adoption. An art lover he also founded online art platform Mayinart.

Krish holds an MBA in Marketing and Strategy from the European Business School, University of Surrey, UK and a First-class Honours Degree in Applied Physics/Classical Physics from the University of Calcutta, India. He has also completed the Global Leadership Development Program from INSEAD, France.

Op Selamat to ensure a safer Raya celebration for all

TM remains committed to work closely with enforcement agencies in ensuring the welfare and well-being of the community Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) and Polis DiRaja Malaysia (PDRM) today launched Op Selamat 18/2022 to promote a safer and joyous celebration this upcoming Hari Raya for all Malaysians nationwide. Entering into its 18th edition, this year's campaign is aptly themed "Rumah Selamat, Selamat Sampai ke Destinasi" (Safe Home, Safe Journey), with the aim of increasing public awareness on road safety and home security during festivities. Op Selamat will be running for 10 days, from 29 April until 8 May 2022. This marks the 23rd collaboration between TM and PDRM on this campaign, the last being in 2019 before the pandemic hit. This is part of the long-standing strategic partnership that TM has established with PDRM, including the MERS999 emergency hotline, the anti-telecommunications cable theft efforts, and the Secured Mobile Services platform used for enforcement operations. The campaign was launched at Menara TM by Datuk Razarudin Husain, the Deputy Inspector General of Police. He also flagged off the 'Traffic Monitoring Team' and a convoy of motorcyclists and cars, symbolically highlighting the campaign's message of road and home safety. Also present at the event were CP Datuk Wira Mat Kasim Karim, Director of Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT); CP Datuk Aidi Ismail, Director of Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department (JPJKK); Tan Sri Mohammed Azlan Hashim, Chairman of TM; Imri Mokhtar, Group Chief Executive Officer of TM; senior management of TM Group, police officers of various ranks as well as officers from various government agencies such as Jabatan Bomba dan Penyelamat Malaysia, Angkatan Pertahanan Awam Malaysia, Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia (KKM), Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan Malaysia (JPJ) and Non-Governmental Organisations (NGO). In his opening speech, Tan Sri Mohammed Azlan said, "TM is committed and always ready to work hand-in-hand with PDRM and other law enforcement agencies in ensuring the security and well-being of the community. This year, once again we continue our long-standing collaboration with PDRM on this noble effort. This campaign reflects our unwavering support towards the Government's initiatives to reduce road mishaps and improve home safety during festive seasons. "The safety of road users and their homes are of utmost importance during festivities. This is the key message we want to spread to the public, and we urge everyone to stay alert on the road and vigilant at home," he added. For this year's campaign, TM is contributing various necessities for the 15 Op Selamat operation centres nationwide, including campaign advocacy and materials such as leaflets and stickers that will be distributed to road users.

TM calls on members of the public to donate pre-loved devices to the MYBAIKHATI campaign

Three (3) TMpoint outlets in Klang Valley now ready to accept device donations for B40 families Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) is supporting MYBAIKHATI, an industry-wide device crowdsourcing initiative aimed to collect and repair used communication devices to be distributed to low income families (B40). TM has set up three (3) of its TMpoint outlets in the Klang Valley as collection points to facilitate the donation drive. The outlets are TM Experience Centre (TMEC) at Menara TM, Bangsar; TMpoint Cyberjaya and TMpoint Shah Alam. The collection points will be progressively expanded nationwide in the near future. Commenting on TM Group's participation, Imri Mokhtar, Group Chief Executive Officer, TM said: "Everyone should have access to digital devices, especially in these times. The MYBAIKHATI campaign aims to provide the B40 community with usable smart devices for digital learning, work and business, so they have the means to weather through this unprecedented period. TM is excited to be part of this industry-wide initiative as together, we can help to alleviate the burden of the underprivileged and at the same time reduce the digital gap. We have kick-started this year-long donation campaign by setting up three (3) of our TMpoint outlets in the Klang Valley as the designated collection points in this pilot phase; so members of the public who are keen to donate can conveniently drop off their devices. We will definitely explore more locations nationwide to enable more people to take part and make their contribution." "We hope our fellow Malaysians, individuals and businesses, can come forth in the spirit of caring and generosity by donating your pre-loved used laptops, chromebooks, 4G-enabled tablets or 4G smartphones. The campaign runs for 12 months, so we hope you have ample time to sift through your belongings or consider a donation as you upgrade the devices for your own families. After making your contribution with us, don't forget to redeem a special token of appreciation for your kind gesture. Please join us in this collective effort towards enabling a more digital society, digital businesses and ultimately, a Digital Malaysia," he added. TM calls for all Malaysians and members of the public, be it individuals or companies to donate their used devices. TM will repair and refurbish devices that meet the terms and conditions with an allocation of up to RM500 for each device. The refurbished devices will then be distributed to eligible families in the B40 segment, through an appointed Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), or through other various channels including selected "Pusat Internet Komuniti" (PIKs) nationwide. The donated devices that do not meet the requirements of the initiative will be responsibly recycled via the existing e-Waste programme. TM helps local entrepreneurs in Perlis to meet their digital needs

“Program Usahawan Digital Bersama TM” is set to empower local entrepreneurs in Beseri and Padang Besar with digital tools ​​​​Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM), through TM Perlis and Kedah, today organised a special programme on digital awareness for local entrepreneurs in Beseri and Padang Besar at Dewan KEMAS, Alor Tampang, Beseri, Perlis.​ Aptly titled "Program Usahawan Digital Bersama TM", the programme was officiated by YB Datuk Zahidi Zainul Abidin, Deputy Minister of Communications and Multimedia Malaysia. Also present were YB Rozieana Ahmad, Exco of Education, Human Resource Development, Science and Technology Innovation, Information Technology and Communications, Datuk Rozlan Mohamed, Regional Head Northern, TM, Anis Ahmad Mohd Ibrahim, State General Manager, TM Perlis and Kedah, as well as Azhar Abdul Rahman, State Office Director, Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC). Speaking at the event, YB Datuk Zahidi said: "The Government continues to organise programmes skewed towards the development of digital economy, which are very relevant in today's new normal. In shifting the entrepreneurs to digital journey, it needs to be supported with the right skills and knowledge in ensuring the entrepreneurs' sustainability. Thus, we laud TM's initiatives such as today's event to increase the digital awareness and further promote the adoption of digital tools amongst the local entrepreneurs, including in sub-urban area." Meanwhile in his speech, Datuk Rozlan said that this programme reflects TM's commitment towards enabling the digital economy. "Digital is the way to go and "the name of the game" for businesses nowadays. So businesses, including local entrepreneurs need to keep abreast of and quickly adapt the digital technologies to stay ahead. Today's "Program Usahawan Digital Bersama TM" is among our initiatives to facilitate this and we are excited to play our role towards this end." "We have various solutions for entrepreneurs to get on board the digital journey to grow their business further. So, we really hope they will grab this opportunity to get business tips and know-how for their benefits. In addition, we are rapidly upgrading our network infrastructure in Beseri and Padang Besar to Fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) to enable communities in the areas to enjoy unifi high speed broadband services. This fits well with the Jalinan Digital Negara (JENDELA) action plan which aspires to deliver connectivity for all," he added. The overall network upgrading exercise for Perlis is expected to be fully completed by end of 2021. At the event, TM Perlis and Kedah also handed over its zakat contribution of RM250 each to 15 selected asnaf residing in Beseri reflecting its caring side to the communities.​
