unifi offers subsidised mobile internet plans through Jaringan Prihatin Programme
Introduces unifi Mobile 39 postpaid plan, now priced at only RM24 (exclusive of SST) per month with RM15 monthly subsidy from the Government
In support of the Jaringan Prihatin programme announced by the Government through the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), unifi is offering unifi Mobile 39 postpaid plan and unifi #BEBAS prepaid plan to Malaysians who are eligible for Bantuan Prihatin Rakyat ("BPR").
Understanding the need for fast and efficient data, especially when many need to stay connected constantly in the current digital age, unifi is offering these mobile plans designed to give more value in the form of FREE mobile data to its customers for 12 months.
The postpaid plan; unifi Mobile 39, is now priced at only RM24 (exclusive of SST) per month with a RM15 monthly subsidy from the Government. The plan also comes with a whopping additional 30GB LTE data per month on top of the existing 5GB of data quota. Meanwhile, the unifi #BEBAS prepaid starter plan priced at RM10 comes with a 2GB data quota monthly and free 1GB LTE data daily.
"We applaud the Government's continuous efforts in helping the B40 group to stay connected. It is especially crucial now where aggressive digital transformation is happening in our society. EWAR Crowds is designed to conduct a rapid body temperature screening of approximately 10-15 individuals per second simultaneously at high traffic areas. The solution is non-intrusive and can easily be deployed in locations with mass traffic flow such as offices, shopping complexes, transportation hubs, universities, schools, tourist attractions, airports, immigration centres, and hospitals. EWAR Compact on the other hand is more suitable for one-on-one contactless thermal screening. This helps to eliminate the need for hand-held temperature taking devices which can subsequently minimise long queues and increase efficiency. Both EWAR products also come with cloud-based software and real-time monitoring app which makes this innovative solution unique. If any visitor entering the premises records a higher temperature, an alert will be triggered and a notification will be sent to the mobile device of the designated person in charge. The system also allows storing of individual temperature reports over a cloud system where it can be accessed remotely for tracking or analysis. The EWAR solution has been developed with the highest accuracy for thermal screening. TM Delivers Steady Performance in Q1 2025, Positions for Long-term Growth
Q1 2025 Key Highlights (vs Q1 2024) Operating Revenue increased by 0.5% YoY to RM2.85 billion EBIT and PATAMI stood at RM550.3 million and RM401.2 million, respectively Fixed Broadband Subscribers increased by 1.6% CAPEX at RM280.0 million, representing 9.8% of revenue KUALA LUMPUR, 28 May 2025 – Telekom Malaysia Berhad (“TM” or “the Group”) today announced its financial results for the first quarter ended 31 March 2025 (Q1 2025), reflecting positive topline growth amidst an evolving and dynamic market landscape. The Group’s operating revenue increased by 0.5% year-on-year (YoY) to RM2.85 billion, primarily driven by higher revenue from data, other telecommunication services and education segment. Earnings Before Interest and Tax (EBIT) stood at RM550.3 million due to the shift in recognition of 5G access costs, higher device costs in line with stronger device revenue and unfavourable foreign exchange movements. Consequently, Profit After Tax and Non-Controlling Interests (PATAMI) came in at RM401.2 million, a 5.6% decline YoY, partially mitigated by lower net finance costs. Capital expenditure (CAPEX) for the quarter was RM280.0 million, accounting for 9.8% of revenue, on track to meet the 2025 guidance range. The majority of it focused on expanding digital infrastructure such as existing data centres, domestic fibre network and submarine cable systems, which are crucial for a thriving and vibrant digital ecosystem.
