Grant to amplify benefits to society; application now open for eligible organisations.
Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) and Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) aiming to expand the reach of their community-based programmes and increase the benefits to more Malaysians nationwide, may get a shot in the arm in the form of an additional source of funding, thanks to Yayasan TM (YTM)’s Social Impact Grant. The foundation arm of Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) recently launched the grant, adding to its many initiatives which are part of its ongoing transformation journey towards becoming a purpose-driven social impact foundation.
As a start, YTM is offering a fund of RM1,500,000 in grants for the first phase. The fund is divided into two (2) categories, namely YTM Social Impact Gold Grant, with each grant ranging from RM100,000 to RM250,000 allocated for mid term projects (with the duration of up to one (1) year) while YTM Social Impact Silver Grant is meant for short term projects (with the duration of three (3) to six (6) months) with funding of RM50,000 to RM100,000 per grant.

“This grant supports YTM's three (3) pillars: Education, Community & Nation Building, as well as Tourism, Culture & Heritage. TM leverages Maxis’ Infra to Drive Enhanced Mobile Connectivity Nationwide
To strengthen the nation’s digital ecosystem through industry collaboration, TM will access Maxis’ 4G Multi Operator Core Network (MOCN), as well as 4G and 2G Domestic Roaming Services to enhance mobile connectivity nationwide. MOCN is a radio access network (RAN) sharing mechanism that allows different core networks to share the same RAN. Through this, TM will extend its 4G coverage across the country by leveraging Maxis’ RAN infrastructure and improve Unifi Mobile's population coverage to above 95%. Maxis will provide approximately 6,800 sites for 4G MOCN and domestic roaming (DR) services, and 10,000 sites for 2G DR, greatly benefiting all subscribers in rural and urban areas nationwide. In a ceremony today at TM HQ in Cyberjaya, Maxis was represented by its Chief Executive Officer, Goh Seow Eng, while Datuk Imri Mokhtar, Group Chief Executive Officer represented TM. Through this strategic partnership, TM and Maxis demonstrate a shared commitment to driving innovation, improving customer experiences, and contributing to the advancement of Malaysia's digital landscape. “This is a significant milestone for Maxis which represents our capabilities and track record in providing high quality mobile networks. TM announces appointment of new chairman; records highest appreciation to predecessor
Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) today announced the departure of Tan Sri Dato' Seri Mohd Bakke Salleh as Chairman of TM Board with effect on 31 July 2021 and the appointment of its new Chairman, Dato' Mohammed Azlan Hashim effective 1 August 2021. On behalf of TM Group, the Board of Directors, expressed their highest appreciation to Tan Sri Dato' Seri Mohd Bakke Salleh for his leadership and contribution to the TM Group during his tenure. He is also currently the Chairman of several public listed entities including D&O Green Technologies Berhad, Marine & General Berhad and IHH Healthcare Berhad. He has extensive working experience in the corporate sectors including financial services and investments. Among others, he served as Chief Executive of Bumiputra Merchant Bankers Berhad, Managing Director of Amanah Capital Malaysia Berhad and Executive Chairman of Bursa Malaysia Berhad. Yayasan TM hands over 60 refurbished laptops under #MYBAIKHATI to aid underprivileged students with online learning
YTM collaborated with PINTAR Foundation to contribute 60 refurbished laptops to underprivileged students under Pejabat Pendidikan Daerah Bangsar/Pudu (PPDBP) to facilitate their online learning session. In its continuous effort to ease the burden of underprivileged students during this unprecedented period, Yayasan TM (YTM), the foundation arm of Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM), together with PINTAR Foundation has reached out to the beneficiaries group under the #MYBAIKHATI initiative. Through the collaboration, YTM contributed 60 units of refurbished laptops together with 15GB LTE unifi Mobile #BEBAS packages FREE for one (1) year to Pejabat Pendidikan Daerah Bangsar/Pudu (PPDBP), Kuala Lumpur. Eligible students from 16 primary and secondary schools have been identified by PPDBP to receive the contribution. When handing over the contribution, Izlyn Ramli, Director of YTM said: “We understand the critical need of good, workable devices and internet connection for Home-Based Learning and Teaching (PdPR) sessions in the new norm. Under the #MYBAIKHATI initiative, we have refurbished used laptops that we received from the kind and caring public. Coupled with our unifi Mobile #BEBAS data plan, we hope the identified students can have a better PdPR experience. TM has set up six (6) of its TMpoint outlets in the Klang Valley as collection points to facilitate the donation drive. The outlets are TM Experience Centre (TMEC) at Menara TM, Bangsar; TMpoint Cyberjaya, TMpoint Shah Alam, TMpoint Setapak, TMpoint Bukit Raja and TMpoint Taman Desa. To further encourage the public to donate their used smart devices, TM has partnered with realme, a smartphone manufacturer, where realme has allocated 300 realme vouchers worth RM50 each for individuals who contribute their used devices. They can then use the vouchers to purchase any realme devices at realme Official Store on Shopee. "realme Malaysia is pleased to join forces with TM in encouraging Malaysians to donate their used smart devices.
