YTM launches RM1.5 million social impact grant for NGOs and CSOs to run programmes for the community
Grant to amplify benefits to society; application now open for eligible organisations.
Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) and Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) aiming to expand the reach of their community-based programmes and increase the benefits to more Malaysians nationwide, may get a shot in the arm in the form of an additional source of funding, thanks to Yayasan TM (YTM)’s Social Impact Grant. The foundation arm of Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) recently launched the grant, adding to its many initiatives which are part of its ongoing transformation journey towards becoming a purpose-driven social impact foundation.
As a start, YTM is offering a fund of RM1,500,000 in grants for the first phase. The fund is divided into two (2) categories, namely YTM Social Impact Gold Grant, with each grant ranging from RM100,000 to RM250,000 allocated for mid term projects (with the duration of up to one (1) year) while YTM Social Impact Silver Grant is meant for short term projects (with the duration of three (3) to six (6) months) with funding of RM50,000 to RM100,000 per grant.
Izlyn Ramli, Director of YTM enthused, “As we embark on our ongoing social impact initiatives, we understand it takes collective and collaborative efforts to bring meaningful changes to the community. That is why at YTM, we are continuously looking for opportunities to work on and with more effective programmes, many of which are already being planned and initiated by wonderful teams out there; delivering positive changes and benefits to more Malaysians nationwide, making that much needed difference. We aim to accelerate our efforts in bringing assistance to those in need through a collaborative model with like-minded NGOs, CSOs, social enterprises, foundations, and community clubs/associations. So, to new and small NGOs as well as CSOs, let us help you get started or get moving on your programmes that address various social issues for marginalised communities.”
“This grant supports YTM's three (3) pillars: Education, Community & Nation Building, as well as Tourism, Culture & Heritage. We hope that as we expand the network and reach of worthy initiatives and organisations, by working together we can scale up more effectively to amplify the social impact for communities in need in Malaysia, and perhaps even beyond,” she added.

Indulge Your Sensory Experience At The Upcoming Immersio Festival Organised By Yayasan Tm And Filamen At Muzium Telekom
Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) through its foundation arm, Yayasan TM (YTM) continues to support the nation's creative industry development by hosting IMMERSIO Festival in collaboration with Filamen at Muzium Telekom Kuala Lumpur. The festival is one of the unique large-scale Art & Technology experiential exhibitions to be staged in the city centering on New Media Art, NFT Crypto Art and Immersive Art, featuring more than 60 local digital artists and collectives from Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Johor, Penang, Kelantan, Sabah and Sarawak. IMMERSIO was established in 2017 with the objective to bring together new media artists from around Kuala Lumpur and the region to exhibit their work marrying arts and technology. After a 2-year hiatus due to the pandemic, the event is back for its fourth (4th) instalment. This month, the festival will occupy Muzium Telekom for the first time, throughout the 27,000 sqft venue in the heart of Kuala Lumpur with 12 immersive installations and 7 workshops as well as talks. Situated within the 94-years old heritage building, Muzium Telekom traces the history of telecommunications in Malaysia from the 1870s up to the present, and IMMERSIO with the theme Mengukir pays homage to the country's achievements in digital infrastructure. Bringing together like-minded emerging and well-established artists, YTM aims to create more meaningful and accessible relationships between people, cultural heritage and the digital world through art and technology. Among the line-up is the Kuala Lumpur based artist, Jun Ong's kinetic installation "Beacon", an expression of the sensorial response to the extinction of nature. Visitors are also invited to take a walk around the room featuring "In Soul in the Fabric of Society", an installation of songket handwoven fabrics by a collective of women weavers from Sarawak known as Tanoti, as well as art installation using fiber optic materials by Cheong See Min, a weaver and textile artist based in Johor. Walking into the exhibition, the visitors will experience Network, an audio installation of telecommunication soundbites from the classic landline telephone to 5G radio waves specially curated by artist duo iwaz and Martian Backline. Conceived partly in response to the Covid-19 crisis, which has been a time of isolation for many, the installation reminds us to be grateful for advancement of technologies that we often take for granted. YTM aims to transform this heritage museum into a vibrant and versatile public arts space that enable artists, collectors and art lovers to immerse themselves to experience these new art mediums in new exciting ways and at the same time provide a platform for inspiring talents including TM Group's own Multimedia University (MMU) students to showcase their creativity and innovation at Muzium Telekom. Holding on to the higher principle of ensuring that no one gets left behind in this digital age, YTM is also exhibiting the extraordinary artworks from WE&I and Nakseni gifted artists in the Virtual Reality (VR) Gallery. The festival will be also featuring the artwork by Rashwin Kalithas, a five-year old special needs young artist that will be receiving a recognition by The Malaysia Book of Records for the "Youngest Autistic Child to Hold Solo Digital Arts Exhibition" at this Media & Partner Night held at Muzium Telekom. Commenting on IMMERSIO and the collaboration with Filamen, Director of Yayasan TM, Izlyn Ramli said, "As a purpose driven social impact based foundation, YTM is committed to the development of arts, creative ventures and culture. It is a necessary part of our nation's heritage preservation and celebration but also a key foundation to build our future. TM Integrity Day 2023 Emphasises “Uncompromising Integrity” as Cornerstone of Corporate Governance
KUALA LUMPUR, 2 November 2023 – TM reaffirms its commitment to integrity, corporate governance, and ethical business practices as it celebrates TM Integrity Day 2023 (TMID). This annual event serves as a platform to reinforce its core values among Warga TM, business partners and its supply chain ecosystem. The theme ‘Uncompromising Integrity’ was chosen to underscore TM's dedication to upholding the highest standards of compliance and ethics in all aspects of its operations. Through these principles, TM continues to strengthen its corporate governance and culture of responsible business conduct. The event featured a forum titled “Strengthening Integrity & Governance” with insights from Tan Sri Abu Kassim Bin Mohamed, Chairman of the Advisory Board of the National Centre for Financial Crime Prevention, and Datuk Dr. Anis Yusal Bin Yusoff, Director of the Centre for Leadership and Professional Development (UM Lead). TM One Appointed Digital Infrastructure Strategic Partner For Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation
KUCHING, 27 October 2023 – TM One has been appointed as the preferred converged digital infrastructure strategic partner for the Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation (SDEC). Through this partnership, SDEC and TM One will collaborate to identify and implement digital solutions that will enable the aspirations tabled in the Sarawak Digital Economy Strategy and Post Covid Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030, spurring the growth of Sarawak’s digital economy, digital society and digital government. This joint initiative aims to increase access and adoption of digital services in Sarawak, bridging the digital divide and empowering greater digital inclusivity among all Sarawakians.
