UniSZA embarks on a digital transformation journey with TM One dedicated premium network connectivity
TM One Hyperconnected Ecosystem provides end-to-end digital solutions that enables Education 4.0 for Malaysian higher learning institution
TM One, the enterprise and public sector business solutions arm of Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) today inked a service agreement with Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA) for the provision of new high speed capacity for internet connectivity via TM One Direct Internet Access and Internet Protocol Virtual Private Network (IPVPN), a dedicated premium network service.
The agreement was signed by Ahmad Taufek Omar, Executive Vice President/Chief Executive Officer, TM One and Mohd Yazid Abd Manaf, State General Manager, TM Terengganu while UniSZA was represented by Prof Dato’ Dr Hassan Basri Awang Mat Dahan, Vice Chancellor, UniSZA and Ismail Ahmad, Registrar, UniSZA. Tuan Haji Rosli Man, Chairman of TM also was also present at the event to witness the signing ceremony.
Under the agreement, TM One will provide new high speed capacity to UniSZA with dedicated and seamless connectivity at UniSZA campus in Gong Badak, Tembila campus in Besut and its Medical Campus in Kuala Terengganu. The enhanced connectivity will provide the university with faster access hence enriching the Internet experience for the campus community consisting of more than 13,000 students. The upgrade is part of UniSZA’s digital transformation journey towards embracing the Industry 4.0 revolution and further improving the university’s operational efficiencies.
Commenting on the latest collaboration, Tuan Haji Rosli said, “TM One, is proud and excited to be the enabler of Hyperconnected Ecosystem for UniSZA’s digital transformation journey towards Education 4.0 in preparing the next generation of workforce for the nation. We will continue to play an active role in nation building particularly in the education sector as well as realising Malaysia's digital aspiration through our vast network connectivity and solid infrastructure.”
The higher capacity will connect UniSZA main campus in Gong Badak with its other campuses namely Tembila campus in Besut and its Medical Campus in Kuala Terengganu via TM One’s IPVPN service. This will further improve the university’s productivity and enable its campus community to access education related applications that are creative and innovative in a faster and more organised manner. With the enhanced connectivity, the campus administrators, academicians as well as students of UniSZA will also be able to connect with the other campuses faster and more efficiently.

TM One and SME Bank collaborate to deliver technology funding to SMEs under PENJANA
TM One and SME Bank sign agreement to provide technology funding to SMEs via SME Technology Transformation Fund (STTF) TM One, the business and public sector solutions arm of Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Small Medium Enterprise Development Bank Malaysia Berhad (SME Bank), an agency under the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperative to offer technology funding for its Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) customers to accelerate their business and digital transformation. The MoU was signed by Ahmad Taufek Omar, Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer, TM One while SME Bank was represented by Aria Putera Ismail, its Group President/Chief Executive Officer. The SME Technology Transformation Fund (STTF), is a fund set up between SME Bank and the Ministry of Finance to offer financing assistance of up to RM3.0 million to local SMEs. This is part of the Government's Pelan Jana Semula Ekonomi Negara (PENJANA) economic stimulus package to provide financial assistance to SMEs in adopting digitalisation and/or automation in their business operations. Commenting on the collaboration, Ahmad Taufek said, "We are excited to work hand-in-hand with SME Bank to accelerate digital adoption amongst our customers particularly in the SME segment. This is in support of the Government's efforts under PENJANA to execute key initiatives to help SMEs during the COVID-19 pandemic. Our aim is to assist SMEs in addressing real business challenges and issues that they are currently facing with the digital solutions available. We have put in place dedicated teams and solutions to enable our customers to realise the full potential of their digital opportunities. Our Professional Services are a consultative approach in helping SMEs to understand how to plan their digital transformation based on their unique business requirements." Meanwhile, Aria said, "With a fund size of RM500 million, STTF is expected to directly assist SME entrepreneurs to achieve higher productivity, process efficiency, efficient cost management and greater market penetration. As at 11 November 2020, SME Bank has approved 18 applications worth RM36.55 million under the STTF fund. SME Bank's role in encouraging the SMEs to adopt digital technology was further enhanced with the introduction of ODELA, the first one-stop e-commerce platform backed by a Development Financial Institution (DFI), that enabled B2B entrepreneurs to make transactions and foster partnership across vast ecosystems. The Bank's wholesome approach in providing financing and entrepreneur development assistance further adds value and accelerate the development of digital economy thus boosting the nation's economic growth in this challenging time." STTF is to be used for financing the purchases of IT solutions and services, technology support services, computer hardware and software, equipment and/or machinery and other intangible assets to enhance productivity and efficiency. SMEs as defined by the National Entrepreneur and SME Development Council (NESDC) are eligible to apply for STTF. TM One Appointed Digital Infrastructure Strategic Partner For Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation
KUCHING, 27 October 2023 – TM One has been appointed as the preferred converged digital infrastructure strategic partner for the Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation (SDEC). Through this partnership, SDEC and TM One will collaborate to identify and implement digital solutions that will enable the aspirations tabled in the Sarawak Digital Economy Strategy and Post Covid Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030, spurring the growth of Sarawak’s digital economy, digital society and digital government. TM ONE COLLABORATES WITH PLANMALAYSIA TO ACCELERATE LOCAL SMART CITIES
KUALA LUMPUR, 29 NOVEMBER 2023 – TM One, the enterprise and government sector business solutions arm of TM, has entered into a collaboration with PLANMalaysia to enable local city councils harness smart innovations and create sustainable, efficient, and connected urban communities. The collaboration is the next phase in TM One’s efforts to accelerate the nation’s smart city aspirations and improve urban living across the country. As part of this collaboration, 29 local councils that were awarded as part of the Malaysia Smart City Recognition Programme during World Town Planning Day 2023, will have access to TM One’s Proof of Concept trials (POCs). Spanning a selection from TM One’s smart services suite, the POCs allow councils to test solutions suited to their localities, enabling them to make empowered decisions in their smart city development efforts. Shazurawati Abd Karim, TM One’s Executive Vice President said, “TM One has always been at the forefront of enabling the country’s smart city initiatives, helping councils nationwide push the boundaries of urban living through smart innovations.
