TM Global extends collaboration with Radian Arc to strengthen its Cloud Gaming offerings
Seoul, South Korea, 1 October 2024 – TM Global, the domestic and international wholesale business arm of Telekom Malaysia (TM), is pleased to announce the extension of its collaboration with Radian Arc, global cloud infrastructure provider, for another two years. This continued collaboration will focus on expanding TM’s cloud gaming offerings at wholesale level.
Building on the successful collaboration initiated in 2022, the extended collaboration will see TM Global and Radian Arc further enhance Malaysia's cloud gaming landscape, as well as expanding these services to other regions including Middle East and African countries. The extended agreement will continue to leverage on Radian Arc’s GPU Edge technology complemented by low-latency SHAKS Gamepad controller developed by Radian Arc’s South Korea-based partner, AKSys Co. This will enable a seamless gaming experience and boost TM Global’s capability in offering high quality, real-time applications.
The signing took place in Seoul with the presence of YB Fahmi Fadzil, Malaysia’s Minister of Communications, who arrived in South Korea for a working visit. TM was represented by Khairul Liza Ibrahim, TM Global’s Executive Vice President, while signing on behalf of Radian Arc was its Chief Executive Officer (CEO), David Cook.

This collaboration will accelerate TM Global’s aspiration to further explore new innovative services like Bandwidth-on-Demand (BoD), enabling flexible, cost-efficient and real-time capacity management, and GPU-based services. This will enable TM to offer high-performance solutions for various applications such as Large Language Model (LLM) training, AI inferencing, and Desktop-as-a-Service (DaaS). These new offerings will empower our customers with scalable, cloud-based resources that drive innovation for their digital transformation journey.

TM reinforces commitment for employee welfare & safety; signs new Collective Agreement with NUTE for 2022-2024
Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) signed its twelfth (12th) Collective Agreement (CA) last week, on 24 August 2022, with the National Union of Telecommunications Employees (NUTE) for the period of 2022-2024. Consecutively, the CA was also signed between NUTE and TM's subsidiaries, namely Telekom Sales & Services Sdn Bhd, TM Info-Media Sdn Bhd, GITN Sdn Bhd and TM R&D Sdn Bhd. About 8,000 non-executive employees in Peninsular Malaysia and Labuan were covered by this CA. It includes employment enhancements for various terms and conditions, including salary adjustment and cost of living allowances among others. It is also aimed to enhance and boost employees’ productivity and work performance. Representing TM Group for the CA signing was Imri Mokhtar, Group Chief Executive Officer and Sarinah Abu Bakar, Chief Human Capital Officer while NUTE was represented by its President, Mohd Jafar Abd Majid, and Mohamad Farid Mohamad Daud, General Secretary of NUTE. The signing ceremony was also witnessed by Tan Sri Mohammed Azlan Hashim, Chairman of TM. “The new CA demonstrates TM’s unwavering commitment and strong industrial partnership with NUTE towards the well-being of our employees. Our people – Warga TM, is the impetus behind our achievements, they are the engine driving TM’s performance. TM’s Edge Facilities Win W. Media’s Asia Pacific Cloud And Datacenter Award For The Southeast Asian Region
Kuala Lumpur, 5 December 2023 – TM Global, the wholesale domestic and international business arm of TM, secured a prestigious accolade at this year's W.Media Asia Pacific Cloud & Datacenter Awards, for its Edge Facilities project aptly titled 'Delivering the Edge'. Effectively meeting the global demand for decentralised data hosting via co-location, this achievement solidifies TM Global's commitment to enhance the country’s digital ecosystem and position Malaysia as a trusted digital hub for the Southeast Asian region. Functioning as a regional data hosting facility, the project involves transforming existing TM exchanges into Edge Facilities across seven states, including Seberang Jaya (Penang), Tasek Ipoh (Perak), Seremban (Negeri Sembilan), Kuantan (Pahang), Kuala Terengganu (Terengganu), Kota Kinabalu (Sabah) and Kuching (Sarawak). Strategically positioned close to the edge of TM’s network, TM’s Edge Facilities significantly reduce the distance between the content hosting location and end-users. This closeness supercharges the velocity of data transmission with ultra-low latency, leading to an enhanced digital experience for all users. By winning this prestigious award, TM Global reinforces its commitment to elevate the digital landscape and shape the future of data and cloud technology in the Southeast Asian region. Now in its third year, the award encourages industry transformation and innovation. It recognises achievement and excellence in championing the 3P’s for the cloud and data centre industry: Planet, Project and People. Winners were presented with the awards during a ceremony held at the Kowloon Shangri-La, Hong Kong on 30 November 2023. Earlier this year, TM won another two awards at the Asian Telecom Awards via TM Global. These accolades, namely “Telecom Company of the Year” and “Wholesale Company Initiative of the Year” recognised TM’s exceptional performance in spearheading significant advancements within Malaysia and the region's telecommunications landscape. TM R&D recognised at MDEC’s Inaugural Malaysia Digital Economy Industry Awards 2022
Acknowledgement for its support for the agency and contribution to the development of the digital ecosystem Telekom Research & Development Sdn Bhd (TM R&D), the innovation arm of Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) recently received the ‘Data Sharing Technology Excellence’ award in recognition of its contribution as a partner to the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) in growing the data ecosystem in Malaysia. The recognition was given away at the inaugural Malaysia Digital Economy Industry Awards 2022 organised by MDEC, to show appreciation and recognise industry players who have been supporting the agency as well as contributing to the development of the digital ecosystem. Present to accept the award from Dato’ Seri Haji Mohammad Mentek, Secretary General of the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia, was Dr. Sharlene Thiagarajah, Chief Executive Officer of TM R&D. Commenting on the milestone achievement, Dr. Sharlene said, “This recognition reaffirms our efforts in developing digital ecosystems to facilitate Malaysians in embracing a more digital lifestyle. It is a proud moment for us at TM R&D and we look forward to continue working closely with MDEC and other agencies with similar aim, contributing our expertise to accelerate data technology adoption and facilitating talent development as well as industry-academic collaboration.” In 2020, TM R&D was appointed as MDEC’s Data Technology Partner under its Data Technology Partnership Programme. The appointment allows TM R&D to work hand-in-hand with MDEC and enterprises in multiple collaboration activities, leveraging on each other’s core expertise and capabilities to accelerate the adoption of data technology among businesses toward boosting Malaysia’s digital economy. TM R&D and MDEC also joined forces to launch a one-stop data exchange platform under MDEC’s #DigitalVsCovid initiative to facilitate and accelerate data sharing. The goal was to bolster research efforts in combating COVID-19. The development of the Data Exchange Platform was among the initiatives aimed at expediting access to data for developers, students, scientists and medical practitioners as well as government agencies. This will help them gather new insights easily on the pandemic and, eventually, pave the way for major breakthroughs. The Data Exchange Platform was built on TM R&D’s Open Innovation Platform (OIP), Malaysia’s first Open Software Development Platform. It consists of a data brokerage platform, an Application Programming Interface (API) store-front and an end-to-end (e2e) ecosystem for the rapid development of smarter 4th Industrial Revolution (IR4.0) services that enable the creation of new revenue opportunities. Established in 2001, TM R&D is the innovation arm of TM Group focusing on creating smarter ecosystems to make business and life easier for a better Malaysia. TM R&D’s solutions are clustered around four pillars namely Intelligent Platforms, Data Brokerage, Connectivity/Tools and IR4.0/Digital Solutions.
