UNIFI MOBILE OFFERS OVER 32K FREE PREPAID SIM CARDS FOR MALAYSIAN HAJJ PILGRIMS
KUALA LUMPUR, 2 MAY 2025 – Unifi Mobile is offering free prepaid SIM cards to 32,500 pilgrims as well as Tabung Haji staff and volunteers for the 2025 Hajj season. This initiative is part of the Sahabat Korporat TH 2025 programme, through which TM supports Tabung Haji via connectivity and digital value-added services for this year’s hajj pilgrims.
With this programme, those performing the Hajj in 2025 are eligible to receive the Unifi Mobile Prepaid SIM card as part of its Middle East Pass offering. These cards were distributed at various Hajj courses and engagement events organised by Tabung Haji, prior to the Hajj season. The Prepaid SIM card can be self-registered through the Unifi UniVerse app available in Google Play or App Store.
Anand Vijayan, Unifi’s Chief Business and Consumer Officer said, “TM has supported Tabung Haji since 1995, providing services and other benefits as part of the Sahabat Korporat TH programme. This initiative aligns with our aspiration to become a Digital Powerhouse by 2030, to enrich lives and communities through technology, ensuring seamless and affordable connectivity for our Hajj pilgrims while they are abroad.”
“Providing one of the most affordable prepaid plans in the market, we are offering unlimited roaming data passes that can be bought before they leave for Hajj.” he added.
Unifi Mobile’s customised Middle East Pass offering will include various unlimited data plans for customers to choose from to suit their connectivity needs while performing Hajj, ranging from 1-day pass priced at RM15 to 45-day pass priced at RM125.

Both of these services will be offered through Unifi Home and Unifi Mobile respectively. Gearing up for the March 2023 start and availability for sign up until December 2023, TM will be working closely with the Ministry of Communication and Digital to fine tune the package details and rollout, ensuring the initiative effectively reaches its target communities. TM GLOBAL EXPANDS DATA CENTRES IN CYBERJAYA AND JOHOR TO STRENGTHEN NATION’S DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION
KUALA LUMPUR, 11 NOVEMBER 2024 – TM Global, TM’s wholesale business arm, will expand its Klang Valley Data Centre (KVDC) in Cyberjaya and Iskandar Puteri Data Centre (IPDC) in Johor, addressing the growing demand for domestic and international data hosting services. This is the next phase in TM’s strategic roadmap to grow its infrastructure ecosystem and position Malaysia as a preferred digital hub in Southeast Asia, aligning with its aspiration to become a Digital Powerhouse by 2030. These expansions and TM’s partnership with Nxera to develop a new, hyperconnected, AI-ready data centre, lays the foundation for digital services such as cloud, advanced analytics, artificial intelligence, and the Internet of Things. Scheduled for commercial operations in 2025, the second phase of both KVDC and IPDC will deliver a combined IT load of about 20MW. The expansion will meet Uptime Institute’s Tier-III standards, and the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver rating for long-term sustainability, a globally recognised green building certification. Khairul Liza Ibrahim, TM Global’s Executive Vice President, said, “KVDC and IPDC are integral infrastructures in Malaysia’s digital ecosystem, serving as international gateways and interconnected points to support 5G networks. This second phase of our data centre expansion will feature sustainable designs, boosting our capacity to support hyperscalers, OTT players, cloud and next generation AI providers, as well as enterprises.” TM Global’s data centres are complemented by seven regional Edge Facilities located throughout the country. unifi offers subsidised mobile internet plans through Jaringan Prihatin Programme
Introduces unifi Mobile 39 postpaid plan, now priced at only RM24 (exclusive of SST) per month with RM15 monthly subsidy from the Government In support of the Jaringan Prihatin programme announced by the Government through the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), unifi is offering unifi Mobile 39 postpaid plan and unifi #BEBAS prepaid plan to Malaysians who are eligible for Bantuan Prihatin Rakyat ("BPR"). Understanding the need for fast and efficient data, especially when many need to stay connected constantly in the current digital age, unifi is offering these mobile plans designed to give more value in the form of FREE mobile data to its customers for 12 months. The postpaid plan; unifi Mobile 39, is now priced at only RM24 (exclusive of SST) per month with a RM15 monthly subsidy from the Government. The plan also comes with a whopping additional 30GB LTE data per month on top of the existing 5GB of data quota. Meanwhile, the unifi #BEBAS prepaid starter plan priced at RM10 comes with a 2GB data quota monthly and free 1GB LTE data daily.
