TM Launches First AI Music Platform, Celebrating Malaysian Languages and Local Dialects
KUALA LUMPUR, 29 August 2024 – TM announces the launch of “Sejuta Suara, Satu Ritma, Jiwa Merdeka,” campaign in celebration of Hari Kebangsaan and Hari Malaysia 2024. It is the first AI-powered platform that enables Malaysians to perform the iconic patriotic anthem “Gemuruh Jiwa” in a wide array of local languages and dialects, bringing cultural diversity to the forefront.
The platform is a first of its kind in Malaysia, combining advanced AI technology with a deep appreciation for the country’s multilingual tapestry. By utilising AI for automated lip-syncing and voice cloning, TM has created an experience that allows users to sing in their preferred language or dialect with realism and ease.
The technology driving this platform is a collaboration of seven state-of-the-art AI and API platforms, seamlessly integrated to deliver a smooth and intuitive user experience. Powered by Credence, TM’s cloud and digital solutions arm, the platform is a testament to TM’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of what is possible with digital technology.

YTM launches RM1.5 million social impact grant for NGOs and CSOs to run programmes for the community
Grant to amplify benefits to society; application now open for eligible organisations. Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) and Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) aiming to expand the reach of their community-based programmes and increase the benefits to more Malaysians nationwide, may get a shot in the arm in the form of an additional source of funding, thanks to Yayasan TM (YTM)’s Social Impact Grant. The foundation arm of Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) recently launched the grant, adding to its many initiatives which are part of its ongoing transformation journey towards becoming a purpose-driven social impact foundation. As a start, YTM is offering a fund of RM1,500,000 in grants for the first phase. The fund is divided into two (2) categories, namely YTM Social Impact Gold Grant, with each grant ranging from RM100,000 to RM250,000 allocated for mid term projects (with the duration of up to one (1) year) while YTM Social Impact Silver Grant is meant for short term projects (with the duration of three (3) to six (6) months) with funding of RM50,000 to RM100,000 per grant. Izlyn Ramli, Director of YTM enthused, “As we embark on our ongoing social impact initiatives, we understand it takes collective and collaborative efforts to bring meaningful changes to the community. TM Q2 NET PROFIT RISES 1.7%, DECLARES 12.5 SEN INTERIM DIVIDEND
KUALA LUMPUR, 29 August 2025 – Telekom Malaysia Berhad (“TM” or “The Group”) today announced its financial results for the second quarter ended 30 June 2025 (2Q 2025), reflecting resilience in a competitive market and continued progress on its strategic priorities. During the quarter, Profit After Tax and Non-Controlling Interests (PATAMI) rose 1.7% compared to corresponding quarter last year to RM403.0 million, while Earnings before Interest and Tax (EBIT) grew 4.5% to RM640.0 million. For the first half of 2025 (1H 2025), revenue stood at RM5.62 billion versus RM5.74 billion a year earlier, as a result of intensely competitive market. Meanwhile, the Group registered EBIT of RM1.19 billion, down 5.8% compared to corresponding period last year, mainly due to forex losses. Adjusting for these, underlying EBIT recorded growth, underscoring TM’s strong fundamentals, core operations and cost discipline in delivering profit despite revenue pressures. The Group continues to demonstrate its focus towards value creation and disciplined capital management, as reflected in the improvement of Return on Invested Capital (ROIC) to 12.81% from 12.34% a year ago. TM maintains a positive outlook for the year and is confident in meeting its 2025 guidance. The Board has declared an interim dividend of 12.5 sen per share, amounting to RM479.7 million for the financial year 2025, reaffirming its commitment to delivering sustainable returns to shareholders. 1H 2025 Segment Highlights Business to Consumer (B2C): Unifi registered steady revenue performance and an increase in fixed broadband subscribers driven by Unifi UniVerse convergence offerings, fuelled by content and mobile take up. Its diverse range of device bundles continued to attract strong demands from various segments. Meanwhile, as the preferred partner to more than 400,000 MSMEs nationwide, Unifi Business segment remained a key driver, with tailored digital solutions that promote digital inclusivity. Business to Business (B2B): TM One revenue was softer as several major projects and sizeable deals are expected to be completed in the second half of the year. Nevertheless, beyond connectivity services such as cloud and ICT recorded steady growth. Carrier to Carrier (C2C): TM Global remains well-positioned, with a strong pipeline of large-scale border-to-border bandwidth requirements expected to be delivered by year-end. On the domestic front, the segment is on track with its data centre expansions and the delivery of 5G mobile backhaul in support of the national 5G agenda. Investing for Future Growth TM continues to strengthen its long-term position through strategic investments in digital technologies, encompassing AI infrastructure and applications, data centres, edge facilities, expanded fibre coverage, 5G mobile backhaul and submarine cable systems. “Digital infrastructure and AI are no longer just a vision for TM. It’s becoming a reality, from the establishment of data centres, sovereign cloud and GPU-as-a-Service to various enterprise applications that continuously help businesses to unlock digital capabilities and growth,” said Amar Huzaimi Md Deris, Group Chief Executive Officer, TM. “Equally important is ensuring digital inclusivity for all communities and businesses, while nurturing the right talent to power Malaysia’s digital future. Through our inaugural Jangkau Digital programme, we are reimagining Kampung Mukut in Pulau Tioman as the nation’s first Smart Eco-Village. At the same time, the launch of Malaysia’s first Faculty of Artificial Intelligence and Engineering at our education arm, Multimedia University, is a clear testament to this commitment. Together, these initiatives reflect TM’s greater purpose of empowering lives and ensuring no one is left behind in the digital era.” Outlook “While the market environment remains challenging, our results demonstrated resilience and ability to execute our strategic priorities. We are building positive momentum through stronger convergence growth, improved cost structures and disciplined capital management. TM lauds the government’s national recovery plan; stays committed to serve customers
Telekom Malaysia Bhd (TM) lauds the Government on the announcement of the National Recovery Plan which outlines the four-phase exit strategy and conditions for Malaysia to overcome the socio-economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. TM is fully supportive of the recovery plan that is anchored on three conditions – the number of daily cases reported, the medical healthcare capacity (ICU) and the national vaccination rate. Commenting on the announcement, Imri Mokhtar, Managing Director and Group Chief Executive Officer, TM said: "We welcome the clarity provided by the Government on the National Recovery Plan. It is indeed a necessary response to the serious economic and social impact of the coronavirus pandemic. We hope that through the effective implementation of this plan, the nation will be able to emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic to a reasonable level of normality by year end, revive the economy and place the country on a new growth trajectory." "TM as an essential services provider continues to ensure Malaysians remain connected in the safety of their homes and that all our customer support services remain in operation throughout each phase of the recovery plan. TM is taking proactive measures in its operations to ensure homes and businesses stay connected; strictly adhering to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and guidelines set by the National Security Council (MKN). TMpoint outlets and key partner stores are open for service applications and essential transactions subject to government and local authority regulations. Service installation and restoration activities remain available for customers with SOPs in place to ensure the safety of both TM personnel and its customers. TM customer care lines remain open. Additionally, customers are encouraged to utilise our 24/7 self-serve digital platforms for service registration, service diagnostics, account-related enquiries as well as payment. TM supports the National Immunisation Programme and encourages Malaysians to register for vaccination to ensure the country can achieve herd immunity. TM also runs its own internal vaccination drive and thus far, 65% of Warga TM has registered. TM will also be running an internal campaign to rally its TM Volunteers by participating in the Malaysia Vaccine Support Volunteers (MyVAC) programme for The Special Committee On COVID-19 Vaccine Supply (JKJAV) to assist with the vaccination process at Vaccine Delivery Center (PPV) locations across the country. TM is also offering its suitable venues nationwide for PPV, drive through and mobile unit stations. Today, its Multimedia University Melaka campus begins its operations as a PPV facility for JKJAV. TM also connects PPVs nationwide with internet access services to enable the frontliners, medical teams, volunteers as well as members of the public to stay connected during the vaccination process. More than RM8.0 million has been channeled for nation building initiatives to date; in terms of medical and non-medical humanitarian aid for communities in need during the pandemic. Most recently, TM has also set up Tabung Solidarity COVID-19 TM as a continuation of the employee donation drive last year, which has already raised and disbursed RM800,000 to various causes. Thus far, TM Board members and Warga TM have pledged another RM600,000 for the fund through voluntary salary and allowance deduction. The contribution is matched by the company to total RM1.2 million to date. The donation will be channelled to the government's Akaun Amanah Bencana. TM also continues to support the nation and communities in need through connectivity initiatives such as Jaringan Prihatin, CERDIK and MYBAIKHATI. TM reiterates its commitment to ensure the safety and health of customers and Warga TM with special working arrangements implemented and enhanced SOPs towards business and customer service continuity.
