Ahmad Taufek, 57, a Malaysian, was initially appointed as Non-Independent Non-Executive Director (NINED) of TM on 1 November 2023 and later was redesignated as Independent Non-Executive Director (INED) on 13 September 2024.

He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.BA Hons) from the International Islamic University, Malaysia and has completed the General Management Programme at INSEAD. 

Ahmad Taufek brings over 31 years of experience the telecommunications and IT sectors, with expertise in business development and sales, having held key roles across major Malaysian telcos including Maxis Berhad, Celcom Axiata Berhad and Digi Telecommunications Berhad (now known as CelcomDigi Berhad), Time dotcom Berhad and TM. 

His previous positions includes the Chief Business Development and Marketing Officer of Sapura, and Chief Commercial Officer of Digital Nasional Berhad (DNB), where he was entrusted to establish the commercial division for DNB with the mandate to partner all local mobile network operators (MNOs) for 5G services.

Ahmad Taufek was an Executive Vice President of TM ONE from August 2019 to August 2021, who led TM ONE into a fully integrated digital enabler for enterprises and public sector. 

In addition to his telecommunications experience, Ahmad Taufek also held senior roles in QSR Brands Berhad as Chief Digital Marketing and Information Technology Officer. He also had an international exposure where he was the Chief Enterprise and Business Solutions Officer of PT Smartfren TBK in Indonesia.

Ahmad Taufek is the Chairman of the Board Tender Committee and is a Member of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee.
