unifi Brings TM Piala Malaysia matches to more Malaysians; extends its broadcast rights to RTM
unifi welcomes RTM as its broadcast partner for all TM Piala Malaysia 2020 matches through sharing of broadcast rights to enable more Malaysians to enjoy the exciting moments of the competition.
unifi today announced that it has collaborated with Radio & Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) and shared some parts of its broadcast rights for Liga Malaysia and Piala Malaysia 2020 with the national broadcaster. With this collaboration, all 15 matches of TM Piala Malaysia 2020 will be made available on RTM's free-to-air TV channels for more Malaysians to enjoy the prestigious football event and cheer for their favourite clubs.
Commenting on the collaboration, Datuk Lai Shu Wei, Vice President of Marketing, unifi said: "Football is the number 1 sport not only here in Malaysia, but also globally. This year, a total of 16 teams will go against each other to vie for the TM Piala Malaysia 2020. The first round is scheduled to start on 6 – 8 November, with the quarter-finals on 12 – 13 November, semi-finals on 17 November and the most awaited final match on 22 November 2020.

This collaboration between TM and the Government demonstrates the shared commitment to deliver digital inclusivity throughout Malaysia. Underserved communities often experience adversity in accessing the benefits of the digital world and uninterrupted connectivity. Students from low-income households, for example, face challenges in accessing online learning platforms, while job seekers may struggle to find employment opportunities or even in starting up small e-Commerce businesses to support their livelihoods. Additionally, a lack of access to digital services and information can limit options for essential services, such as healthcare and Government services. Via this offering, TM seeks to bridge the digital divide through hyperconnectivity and empower these communities with the necessary tools and resources to succeed in the digital age. “As a conscientious corporate entity, TM has a social responsibility to create a meaningful impact on the community. Unifi’s fixed broadband services will be available at a more affordable rate, ensuring that more Malaysians have access to reliable internet connectivity. Earlier in March, TM also announced Pakej Perpaduan Prabayar Mudah Alih (Prepaid Mobile) and together, these services will enable ubiquitous connectivity and reinforces TM’s fixed-mobile convergence leadership, offering integrated fixed broadband, mobile services, and digital content to more Malaysians. TM ONE REINFORCES COMMITMENT TO ENABLING MELAKA'S DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION ASPIRATIONS
KUALA LUMPUR & MELAKA, 30 DECEMBER 2024 – TM One, TM’s enterprise and government sector solutions arm, has reinforced its commitment to enabling Melaka’s digital and sustainable development through various collaborations with local agencies. Working with Majlis Perbandaran Alor Gajah (MPAG) and Syarikat Air Melaka Berhad (SAMB), TM One is deploying digital solutions to support the state’s economic growth, public services, and aspirations to become a model smart city. TM One also recently welcomed Datuk Seri Utama Ab Rauf Yusoh, Melaka’s Chief Minister, to the TM Response Centre Melaka, one of three facilities that supports emergency responses across Malaysia. The Centre is staffed by over 150 personnel who manage emergency response calls 24/7, ensuring quality control, technical support, and data management. Handling over a million calls every month, the Centre serves as a critical national infrastructure that connects citizens with emergency responders, reinforcing public safety and security. Leveraging the Open Innovation Platform (OIP) and a range of digital tools including Workflow and Job Assignment Software, the solution enables efficient task allocation and tracking for improved metering, restoration, and contractor management. Customised workforce monitoring devices further provide real-time data capture and reporting from on-site locations, improving operational visibility and safety. Additionally, high-speed mobile connectivity supports communication and coordination, ensuring swift task completion and better service quality.
