TM & TNB in collaboration to accelerate broadband reach for the nation
Both GLCs to capitalise on combined capabilities to ensure successful delivery of Nationwide Fiberisation Plan
Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) and Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly develop an implementation plan to deliver on the Government's Nationwide Fiberisation Plan (NFP).
This collaboration will capitalise on the combined strength of both Government-Linked Companies (GLCs) in terms of reach, infrastructure and expertise. In particular, the synergies will enable the most efficient cost structure, and further accelerate the fibre broadband network reach. This is in line with the Government's aspirations to drive Malaysia's Digital Economy; as envisioned under both the NFP as well as the High Speed Broadband (HSBB) projects.
Further, the roll-out under TM and TNB, as two of Malaysia's leading institutions, ensures the safety and security of the nation's strategic and critical infrastructure. The proposed network will also continue the existing open access participation of industry players to promote private sector competition in retail broadband.
The MoU was signed by Dato' Sri Mohammed Shazalli Ramly, Managing Director/ Group Chief Executive Officer of TM, and Datuk Seri Ir. Azman Mohd, President/ Chief Executive Officer of TNB.
The MoU is subject to a definitive agreement to be signed between the parties upon finalisation of the commercial terms. Further announcements will be made in due course, as and when appropriate.

The event was recently held virtually in conjunction with the 29th World HRD Congress 2020, one of the largest Human Resource global conferences, where leaders and professionals in Human Resource field from over 133 countries gather to discuss about Human Resource best practices. Meanwhile, earlier in February this year, in conjunction with the 28th World HRD Congress, TM received two (2) more awards namely Best Workplace Practices at the Global HR Excellence Awards and Employer of Choice at the HR Tech Award & Conferences held in Mumbai. TM Q3 PERFORMANCE IMPROVES ON STRONGER EXECUTION DISCIPLINE
KUALA LUMPUR, 24 November 2025 – Telekom Malaysia Berhad (“TM” or “The Group”) today announced its financial results for the first nine months of 2025 ended 30 September 2025 (YTD 2025), recording a Profit After Tax and Non-Controlling Interests (PATAMI) of RM1.49 billion, up compared to the same period last year. At the same time, the Group registered PATAMI of RM686.3 million in Q3 2025 compared to RM465.1 million in Q3 2024. The higher PATAMI reflects the Group’s execution discipline, coupled with one-off items recognised during the quarter. Group revenue grew 2.6% to RM2.99 billion in Q3 2025 compared to corresponding quarter last year, with Earnings before Interest and Tax (EBIT) rose 12.9%, to RM619.8 million, reflecting improved product and services margin, productivity gains and disciplined cost management. Amar Huzaimi Md Deris, Group Chief Executive Officer TM said, “TM’s stronger third-quarter results underscore our momentum in transformation and new growth areas. The improved performance reflects our consistent focus on execution discipline and commitment towards value creation. We are executing our strategy with vigour, solidifying our core business, scaling up our sovereign data centre and cloud infrastructure for growth, while embedding AI across our operations to drive long-term competitive advantage. As we move into the final quarter, our priority is to ensure growth in profitability whilst continue to invest strategically in future-ready infrastructure that will catalyse the nation’s digital economy, driving inclusivity for all. This is in line with our aspiration of becoming a Digital Powerhouse by 2030 while positioning Malaysia as the digital hub for ASEAN,” Amar added. Revenue-generating Investments and Value Creation Capital expenditure stood at 14.9% of revenue, within the Group’s full-year guidance, reflecting disciplined execution in strategic investments. The expansion of its data centres in the Klang Valley and Iskandar Puteri has progressed into operational phase with 20 MW additional capacity now available, reinforcing Malaysia’s position as a regional hub for hyperscalers and cloud service providers. Together with improved asset utilisation and earnings performance, these disciplined investments have translated into the highest Return on Invested Capital (ROIC) to date of 13.5%. The improved ROIC has contributed positively towards value creation for all stakeholders. Overall, TM maintains a positive outlook for the remainder of 2025.
Enabling greater digital inclusivity for Malaysians through Pakej Perpaduan Jalur Lebar Tetap
Following Minister of Communications and Digital, YB Fahmi Fadzil’s announcement on the Pakej Perpaduan Jalur Lebar Tetap (Fixed Internet Broadband) yesterday, Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) is committed to support the Government’s aim to bring hyperconnectivity to key target communities. Focusing on segments most in need particularly B40, the elderly, OKU, army-police veterans, the delivery of Pakej Perpaduan Jalur Lebar Tetap aligns with TM’s aspiration to empower a Digital Malaysia and meet the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), particularly to promote inclusive and sustainable digital industrialization and innovation (Goal 9), as well as to reduce inequalities and empower social and economic inclusion for all (Goal 10). As a responsible corporate organisation, TM has a social accountability to making a positive impact for the community. Furthermore, the initiative will strengthen the nation’s digital inclusivity and bring digital access and opportunities to all layers of society. “Pakej Perpaduan comes at a crucial point of the nation’s recovery and complements other national initiatives such as Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah and Payung Rahmah to ensure a better quality of life for these communities. This serves as another means to combat the rising cost of living and keeps us on track to building Malaysia’s digital economy, despite the challenges anticipated,” said Dato’ Imri Mokhtar, TM’s Group Chief Executive Officer. “Bringing the power of the internet to underprivileged individuals and families facilitates their right to resources and knowledge online, gives them the opportunity to leverage on digital platform to run online business and can serve as a critical stepping stone for them to improve their lives. “While the Pakej Perpaduan Jalur Lebar Tetap enables more affordable, unlimited fixed broadband and brings savings of RM480 to every eligible household, this complements the announced Pakej Perpaduan Prabayar Mudah Alih (prepaid mobile) in bringing ubiquitous connectivity for the key target individuals and household members. Both of these services will be offered through Unifi Home and Unifi Mobile respectively. This also reinforces TM’s Fixed-Mobile Convergence leadership, offering integrated fixed broadband, mobile services, data services, digital content and innovative solutions to every Malaysian, businesses and the Government”, he further added. Gearing up for the March 2023 start and availability for sign up until December 2023, TM will be working closely with the Ministry of Communication and Digital to fine tune the package details and rollout, ensuring the initiative effectively reaches its target communities. Dato’ Imri concluded, “We are committed to be working on this initiative as it goes beyond providing services but speaks to our vision of becoming a human-centered TechCo – leveraging technologies to provide equal opportunities for every Malaysian.
