TM & TNB in collaboration to accelerate broadband reach for the nation
Both GLCs to capitalise on combined capabilities to ensure successful delivery of Nationwide Fiberisation Plan
Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) and Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly develop an implementation plan to deliver on the Government's Nationwide Fiberisation Plan (NFP).
This collaboration will capitalise on the combined strength of both Government-Linked Companies (GLCs) in terms of reach, infrastructure and expertise. In particular, the synergies will enable the most efficient cost structure, and further accelerate the fibre broadband network reach. This is in line with the Government's aspirations to drive Malaysia's Digital Economy; as envisioned under both the NFP as well as the High Speed Broadband (HSBB) projects.
Further, the roll-out under TM and TNB, as two of Malaysia's leading institutions, ensures the safety and security of the nation's strategic and critical infrastructure. The proposed network will also continue the existing open access participation of industry players to promote private sector competition in retail broadband.
The MoU was signed by Dato' Sri Mohammed Shazalli Ramly, Managing Director/ Group Chief Executive Officer of TM, and Datuk Seri Ir. Azman Mohd, President/ Chief Executive Officer of TNB.
The MoU is subject to a definitive agreement to be signed between the parties upon finalisation of the commercial terms. Further announcements will be made in due course, as and when appropriate.

TM eases the burden of its adopted school

Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) recently lent a helping hand to one of its adopted schools, Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Medamit, Limbang, Sarawak with a cash contribution of RM13,000.00 to help rebuild the school’s administration building which was destroyed in a fire recently. Zulkarnain Hassim, Assistant Manager, TM Miri who represented Jafer Sadig Abdul Lathiff, State General Manager, TM Sarawak handed over the cash contribution to Raja Manikam, the Principal of SMK Medamit. Commenting on the initiative, Jafer Sadig said; “We hope this contribution will assist and alleviate some of the school’s burden to rebuild its administration building as well as to purchase the necessary office equipment, especially with the school’s new season has already begun. TM will continue to support and lend a helping hand to those in need in any way possible, including towards a nation-building cause through sustainable initiatives. Furthermore, SMK Medamit is one of the schools under TM Adopted School programme which is part of TM’s Corporate Responsibility initiative.” Meanwhile, members of the public can contribute to Tabung Bantuan Kebakaran SMK Medamit, which was launched via TM’s e-donation application called ‘Ensani’.
TM One teams up with sap to become first local hyperscaler for partner managed cloud
This collaboration is aimed at empowering enterprise digitalisation to drive and support MyDIGITAL aspirations towards a technologically advanced economy via SAP and TM One’s Cloud infrastructure TM One, the enterprise and public sector business solutions arm of Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) and SAP Malaysia Sdn Bhd (SAP), recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for a strategic collaboration to accelerate the digital transformation of Malaysian enterprises and to improve their operating efficiency through digital solutions. The event also announced the appointment of TM One as the first local hyperscaler to become the Partner Managed Cloud (PMC) provider for SAP business suite solutions in Malaysia. With this appointment, TM One's α Edge (pronounced as Alpha Edge) will provide cloud infrastructure to empower SAP's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solutions in meeting the business needs of TM One's enterprise customers. TM and Ministry of Education establish synergy to drive digital transformation in education
TM Becomes the Strategic Partner for Digital Education Transformation Initiative and Launches Special unifi Mobile Plan, Exclusively for Teachers Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) and Ministry of Education Malaysia (MOE) today embarked on a journey to establish working synergies on Digital Education Transformation initiative, in line with the Government’s Transformasi Nasional 2050 (TN50) plan which is set to empower Malaysia’s education system through innovation and digitalisation. This collaboration marks a steadfast effort via strategic partnership between TM and MOE to ensure effective delivery of the Digital Education Transformation programme. The collaboration will focus on four (4) main pillars namely 21st Century Teaching & Learning, Enterprise Architecture, Education Analytics and other Value Added services suitable for education. The ceremony was graced by YB Dato’ Seri Mahdzir Khalid, Minister of Education Malaysia together with Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Dr. Sulaiman Mahbob, Chairman, TM, together with Datuk Dr. Amin Senin, Education Director General of MOE and Datuk Bazlan Osman, Deputy Group Chief Executive Officer, TM.
