KENYATAAN BERSAMA KEMENTERIAN KESIHATAN MALAYSIA, KEMENTERIAN KOMUNIKASI DAN TELEKOM MALAYSIA BERHAD
PUTRAJAYA – Next Generation Malaysian Emergency Response Services 999 (NG MERS 999) merupakan sistem kecemasan generasi baharu negara yang dibangunkan untuk menyediakan perkhidmatan lebih pantas, tepat, moden dan inklusif.
Mula beroperasi sejak 16 November 2025, pembangunan sistem ini adalah hasil kerjasama strategik antara Kementerian Komunikasi (KK), Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) dan lima agensi kecemasan utama negara, iaitu:
- Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia (KKM);
- Polis Diraja Malaysia (PDRM);
- Jabatan Bomba dan Penyelamat Malaysia (JBPM);
- Angkatan Pertahanan Awam Malaysia (APM); dan
- Agensi Penguatkuasaan Maritim Malaysia (Maritim Malaysia).
KKM, KK dan TM telah menerima laporan berkaitan perkhidmatan ambulans. Walaupun insiden tersebut adalah terpencil, perkara ini ditangani secara serius dan dengan kadar segera kerana setiap panggilan kecemasan melibatkan nyawa dan kesejahteraan rakyat.
Semakan teknikal oleh TM mengesahkan bahawa sistem NG MERS 999 beroperasi seperti biasa, termasuk prosedur penyaluran kes menggunakan prinsip “nearest available” bagi memastikan aset kecemasan terhampir dapat digerakkan secepat mungkin.
Bagi pihak KKM, usaha memperkukuh respons di lapangan terus dipertingkatkan melalui penambahan ambulans, penyusunan semula penugasan petugas di kawasan strategik, serta penglibatan badan sukarela seperti Bulan Sabit Merah Malaysia, St. John Ambulans Malaysia dan pertubuhan bukan kerajaan (NGO) tempatan sebagai sebahagian daripada keupayaan respons kecemasan negara. Penilaian berterusan terhadap keupayaan koordinasi dan ketersediaan aset juga sedang dilaksanakan bersama agensi-agensi berkaitan.
Pada masa sama, Perkhidmatan 999 melalui panggilan suara kekal berfungsi sepenuhnya dan boleh digunakan seperti biasa.
Aplikasi SaveME999 pula berfungsi sebagai saluran tambahan, khususnya untuk pengguna yang memerlukan ciri komunikasi melalui teks, video dan multimedia, selaras dengan usaha meningkatkan keberkesanan dan keterangkuman respons kecemasan negara.
TM akan terus memperkukuh keupayaan sistem dan aplikasi NG MERS 999, termasuk perisian serta proses teknikal yang berkaitan, bagi memastikan prestasi dan pengalaman operasi yang lebih lancar untuk semua agensi kecemasan.

Akademi Sepaktakraw Malaysia to Boost National Talent Pipeline
KUALA LUMPUR, 14 April 2026 – Sepak takraw, a sport deeply rooted in Malaysia’s heritage and identity, marked a significant milestone today with the official launch of the inaugural Akademi Sepaktakraw Malaysia, officiated by YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia.The Akademi signals a renewed national commitment to revitalise and elevate sepak takraw through a more structured, sustainable and future-ready development ecosystem. As the world’s first full-fledged national sepak takraw academy, it serves as a main centre for training, development and high-performance preparation, aimed at nurturing talent from grassroots to elite levels and supporting athletes across multiple pathways. Established under the Persekutuan Sepaktakraw Malaysia (PSM), the Akademi complements existing national sepak takraw initiatives and strengthens a more integrated talent pipeline, reinforcing Malaysia’s competitiveness on the regional and international stage.PSM President, Dato’ Mohd Sumali Reduan said, “Sepak takraw is an integral part of our national identity and continues to bring pride to Malaysia on the international stage. With the Akademi Sepaktakraw Malaysia, we are putting in place a more structured and sustainable pathway for talent development, ensuring athletes are equipped with the right support, facilities and exposure to succeed. We are proud to work alongside partners such as Telekom Malaysia (TM), whose role in strengthening this ecosystem is critical as we continue to elevate the sport. Through this collective effort, we aim not only to produce champions, but to ensure Malaysia remains competitive and respected in the global sepak takraw arena for decades to come.In conjunction with the launch, TM was announced as the Official Technology Partner and Exclusive Connectivity Provider for the Akademi Sepaktakraw Malaysia, delivering high-speed broadband connectivity to support daily operations, athlete needs and live match requirements. Through Unifi TV, TM also provides exclusive hotel TV entertainment, offering uninterrupted access to premium channels at the Akademi’s accommodation facilities. TM also supports sepak takraw talent development through programmes such as the National Sepak Takraw Development Programme (NSTDP) and Kursus Latihan Asas Sukan (KLAS). Through this continued collaboration, PSM and TM share a commitment to strengthening Malaysia’s sporting ecosystem, nurturing national talent and ensuring grassroots sports like sepak takraw continue to empower unity, pride and aspiration for generations to come.
Nurturing future digital leaders through YTM Future Skills Champion Schools
Enhances its adopted schools programme to be more holistic by embedding digital technology and leadership skills TM, through Yayasan TM (YTM), recognises the need to equip the next generation with the digital and technology skills required for Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR4.0). In view of this, in 2014, YTM began its Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) oriented programmes, such as robotics, 3D modelling, coding, and big data analytics, to promote those subjects amongst students and education communities at schools nationwide. In 2020, the modules were conslidated into TM Future Skills (TMFS) programme, with the aim of making it more comprehensive and beneficial to the intended participants. The programme was tailored to the syllabus outlined by the Ministry of Education (MOE) and covered the nine (9) pillars of the IR4.0. It has been receiving positive feedback from the teachers and students involved and more schools have requested to be part of the programme. Supporting MOE’s aspiration for digital education transformation, YTM continues to spread the positive impact of TMFS in a more structured approach. Towards this end, the foundation has embarked on TM Future Skills Champion School (TMFS School) initiative, as a continuation of the TM School Adoption Programme with enhanced contents. TMFS Schools foster future digital skills by embracing digital technology in its classroom activities where leadership, design thinking and cognitive abilities were emphasised to prepare the students for future employment. SMK Gunung Semanggol (SMKGS) in Perak, with more than 90% of its students from B40 families, was selected as the first TMFS School, aligned with YTM’s aspiration to assist B40 students in rural areas. To further facilitate the initiative, YTM is establishing TMFS Digital Hub at TMFS Schools where the schools will be equipped with a PocketLab, robotics set, 3D printer, smart TV, desktop, and digital learning content to gain more interest from its students as well as the neighbouring schools. "SMK Gunung Semanggol was identified based on its active involvement in various STEM initiatives, including previous TMFS programmes. The school also has passionate and dedicated teachers, where they adopt integrated and innovative approach for more in-depth understanding of the modules among the students. With such exposure and capabilities, we are confident that SMK Gunung Semanggol is able to play the role as a hub to spread the digital technology knowledge to more students and teachers including at the five (5) neighbouring schools, and approximately over 20 secondary schools in the Kerian district," said Izlyn Ramli, Director of YTM, during the launching ceremony of TMFS School in November 2022. Throughout this three-year programme, YTM, together with its strategic partner, Creative Minds, will work with Multimedia University (MMU), Yayasan Universiti Multimedia (YUM), TM Perak, and other YTM's partners to design and deliver engaging programmes providing the tools and support for students in rural schools to flourish. "We are also happy to see that SMK Gunung Semanggol promotes the development of other skills, such as urban farming and entrepreneurship, to empower the local communities sustainably. So as we continue to identify more potential schools in more states of Malaysia, we hope this programme will unearth more talented students towards building a competitive and sustainable community in the future," she added. Salmah Iman, the Principal of SMK Gunung Semanggol, expressed her enthusiasm, "We feel honoured and privileged to be chosen as the first TMFS School in the Northern Zone and Malaysia. We are excited and look forward to share the positive impact of this programme with the nearby schools. As we are committed to ensuring that this programme achieves its goals, we are also confident that YTM's support and assistance will help these students be prepared for future employment and enhance their standard of living." At the event, Bakri Arsad, Chief Assistant Director of Mathematics and Science, Learning Sector, Perak State Education Department, said, "We welcome such initiatives through collaboration with the private sector, especially for rural schools that need exposure to digital technology. These programmes will inspire students to explore their potential beyond academics and increase the number of students choosing STEM-related fields." During the launch, guests had the opportunity to visit the Pusat Sumber Sekolah Pendeta Za'aba and experience content and materials created by the students based on specific themes including unique handicrafts and martial arts performances. Guests toured the school's urban farm, where they sampled delicious cuisine prepared by students from the special education class using produce from the farm. SMK Gunung Semanggol provided a wonderful ambience of positive vibes that attract students' engagement and boosted their creativity. To date, STEM-related programmes by YTM, including TMFS, have benefited over 15,000 students and teachers from over 500 schools across the country. With the support and assistance of various interested partners, we hope this initiative will spark students' interest in pursuing their tertiary studies in technology and digital fields and equip the young generation with future-proof skills relevant to the future workforce.
TM Celebrates Aidilfitri 2025 with “Salam Teristimewa”, Empowering Autistic Community through AI and Art
KUALA LUMPUR, 2 April 2025 – This Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Telekom Malaysia Berhad (“TM” or “the Group”) presents “Salam Teristimewa”, a special campaign that brings together creativity, inclusion and innovation to celebrate the unique talents of Malaysia’s autistic community. Adding further meaning to the celebration, this year’s campaign also coincides with World Autism Acceptance Month in April. In supporting this, TM is collaborating with NakSeni, a social enterprise dedicated to empowering artists with disabilities, to shine a spotlight on three creative autistic individuals—Izzati Shahrin, Yuri Azzari, and Maria Soo. Rich in emotion, colour and individuality, their original artworks have been transformed by TM into dynamic, animated expressions using generative AI tools. These animated visuals offer an immersive glimpse into how neurodiverse individuals interpret themes such as festive joy, human connection and the feeling of belonging, among core elements of Aidilfitri that resonate will all Malaysians. Amar Huzaimi Md Deris, TM Group Chief Executive Officer said, “This Aidilfitri, we are celebrating the power of expression, inclusion, and how technology can and should be used to uplift lives. We believe that every voice, especially those less heard, has a story worth sharing. Through “Salam Teristimewa”, we are humbled to raise awareness around autism acceptance to foster a greater understanding of neurodiversity and promote a more inclusive society. “This initiative reflects TM’s broader aspiration to become a Digital Powerhouse by 2030, where innovation is not just about advancing technology, but about creating meaningful impact for communities. By harnessing the latest AI video generation tool, we have reimagined how art and technology can intersect to amplify underrepresented voices, and offer all Malaysians a new, heartfelt perspective on Raya,” added Amar. Each piece offers a window into the autistic artists’ perspectives, blurring the line between technology and human emotion and creating a celebration that is truly teristimewa.
