Communications and Multimedia Minister confident with nation’s digital infrastructure after visit to TM Network Operations Centre
Communications and Multimedia Minister, YB Tan Sri TPr Annuar Haji Musa expressed his confidence with the nation’s digital infrastructure to deliver Malaysia’s communications and digital aspirations for now and into the future.
He expressed this after a working visit to the TM Network Operations Centre in Cyberjaya today.
“I’m very happy with the visit today and from what I see, I’m confident that we have the people, capabilities and infrastructure to ensure 100% connection all over the country. We will leave no Malaysian behind,” YB Tan Sri TPr Annuar Haji Musa said after the visit.
TM’s state of the art network operations centre serves as the brains of the nation’s digital and communications infrastructure managing over 600,000 km of communications cables and over 26,700TB data daily.
The centre also monitors the health and operations of the 30 submarine cable systems that carries 1,990TB of internet data into and out of the country.
Commenting on the visit, TM’s Chairman, Dato’ Mohammed Azlan Hashim said, “We are honoured to have YB Tan Sri TPr Annuar and his senior officers from the Ministry and MCMC with us. This visit gives us the opportunity to showcase the various customer segments we serve and the strength of digital technology available and ready to serve our customers.”
“Befitting our unique and important role as the nation’s connectivity and digital infrastructure provider and the enabler of Digital Malaysia, we are ready to serve Keluarga Malaysia with our comprehensive communications and digital solutions. As a Government-Linked Company (GLC), TM remain commited to contribute towards the country's development through telecommunications and digital in support of the country's digital aspirations including JENDELA and MyDIGITAL towards accelerating the country towards a full-fledged Digital Malaysia by 2023,” he added.
The visit today is expected to nurture even closer ties between both parties.

YAYASAN TM’s ‘PROGRAM CAHAYA RAMADAN’ CONTINUES TO BRING JOY TO THE LESS FORTUNATE COMMUNITIES
KUALA LUMPUR, 22 March 2024 – TM, through its social foundation arm, Yayasan TM (YTM), announces the continuation of its ‘Program Cahaya Ramadan’. This year, the programme allocates RM320,000 to aid approximately 3,000 beneficiaries across Malaysia, including asnaf, orphans, B40 families, single mothers, Persons with Disabilities (PWD), tahfiz students, and the Orang Asli community. The initiative, mobilised through our state offices nationwide, focuses on distributing food baskets and raya essential items such as baju raya and duit raya (cash) to the identified beneficiaries during Ramadan. Ainol Shaharina Sahar, Director of Yayasan TM said, “It is our honour to once again initiate the ‘Program Cahaya Ramadan’, extending our hand in solidarity to those in need during this reflective and benevolent time of year. Our goal is to alleviate the hardships of our beneficiaries, ensuring they too can share in the joy and togetherness that Ramadan brings. We aim to foster a sense of community and hope, particularly among children, as they observe the sacred month and look forward to Eid ul-Fitr celebrations.” In addition to these efforts, YTM is launching the ‘Dana Kasih Yayasan TM’ fundraising campaign, aiming to raise RM30,000 to specifically assist Orang Asli families in Pos Kuala Mu, Sungai Siput, Perak. This campaign focuses on gathering funds to provide these families with essential food supplies for Ramadan, aiming to ensure they have the resources needed for a fulfilling festive period. In 2023, YTM’s ‘Program Cahaya Ramadan’ has benefitted more than 3,000 beneficiaries through over 20 programmes across the country. A Golden Tribute for SEA Games Sepak Takraw Champions
KUALA LUMPUR, 11 February 2026 – The Persekutuan Sepaktakraw Malaysia (PSM), together with its Official Partner Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM), recently honoured the National Sepak Takraw Squad following their historic performance at the 2025 SEA Games in Thailand, at an appreciation ceremony held at World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL). The occasion was marked by the presentation of an exclusive, one-of-a-kind 999.9 commemorative gold coin by TM to each SEA Games gold medallist, symbolising TM’s pride in having supported the national squad’s journey to the top of the podium.The national squad delivered a proud milestone for Malaysian sport, securing two gold medals and three bronze medals, including a long-awaited victory in the Men’s Team Regu event - reclaiming the gold after 34 years. This reflects years of commitment, discipline and perseverance within the team, backed by support from TM as the Official Partner of the national squad.The appreciation ceremony brought together players, coaches, and officials to acknowledge not only the medals won, but the collective journey behind the success. In addition to the commemorative gold coins presented to gold medallists, TM also presented TM-PSM limited-edition jackets to the wider squad, coaches and PSM officials.The PSM President, Dato’ Mohd Sumali Reduan said the SEA Games success marked a renewed confidence and chapter for the sport. “Ending a 34-year wait for gold is deeply meaningful for the sport and for the country, and is the result of years of hard work, sacrifice and belief by our athletes and coaches. Through this partnership, PSM and TM share a commitment to strengthening Malaysia’s sporting ecosystem, nurturing national talent and ensuring grassroots sports like sepak takraw continue to empower unity, pride and aspiration for generations to come.
YTM and Istana Negara equips higher risk communities with disaster preparedness
Facilitates the development of localised Emergency Response Plans Over the years, Yayasan TM (YTM) has been actively involved in disaster emergency response efforts and lent its helping hand to affected communities in various ways. With many tragic losses of life and property due to natural disasters, it is imperative to help the public better understand the importance of preparedness, the risks involved and build capacities for pre-emptive and early action, including identifying vulnerabilities and potential impact on people and assets. Through its latest initiative, the YTM-Istana Negara Community Based Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Programme (CBDRRM), organised in collaboration with Istana Negara, the programme is aimed at empowering communities especially women and children as well as building community resilience during disasters with the necessary knowledge and skills in disaster preparedness - in alignment to the Government's aspiration to nurture a disaster preparedness culture among Malaysians. For the inaugural edition of the programme, YTM identified three (3) high risk areas in Kuantan, Maran and Bentong districts in Pahang. This is also a continuation from the support to the local communities post-flood early this year where YTM, together with Istana Negara provided basic necessities, workforce and monetary assistance to citizens in Karak, Ulu Tembeling and Kuantan districts. “This CBDRRM programme is both important and timely, in view of frequent heavy rain and storms of late. We hope that the local communities will fully utilise the skills and knowledge obtained from the initiative, to be better prepared for in the event of any flood incidents in their respective areas, minimising the impact and ultimately, saving lives,” said Izlyn Ramli, Director of YTM. “We were delighted to find that these modules were very helpful for them based on their feedback. Meanwhile, we remain on the ready to deploy response and humanitarian aid should the need arise,” she added. The first one was held in August 2022 for the community in Perumahan Awam Kos Rendah (PAKR) Sungai Pandan, Kuantan, which saw a total of 120 participants attending, while the second was held in Maran in September. With the support of the National Disaster Management Agency (NADMA) as well as the TM Reaching Out Volunteers (TMROVers), the programme was conducted by 12 humanitarian experts with vast disaster response experience, including risk and reduction management from Red A Humanitarian Global. The modules highlighted the importance of disaster preparedness, hands-on session to develop localised Emergency Response Plans, water safety and practical swimming, as well as simulation exercises. The participants were also briefed on mental health management and creating children-friendly spaces (CFS) as an added element. For any emergency response plan to work, active participation from the community becomes crucial. During the programme, the communities were also connected to their local government agencies such as the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (BOMBA), Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), Malaysia Civil Defence Force (APM), Jabatan Pengairan & Saliran (JPS) Negeri Pahang for better disaster response in the future. The third and final session was organised recently in Bentong in collaboration with Istana Negara and attended by 125 participants. Via the three (3) series of CBDRRM in Pahang, YTM have reached a total of 458 community members and local government agencies; inclusively, empowering 123 female participants and 167 children and teenagers. This initiative is aligned with our aspiration to build capacity in disaster preparedness among community members, especially women and children, who are considered first responders’ priority when a disaster occurs. YTM will continuously support the community for better disaster preparedness and response through community leadership and self-empowerment.
