Unifi TV Launches Original Content
Kuala Lumpur, 23 October 2023 – Unifi TV today launched Unifi TV Originals, its own original production to provide greater diversity and valuable content to its viewers. The series and movies line up are locally tailored to satisfy Malaysian viewers which include urban legends, folklore stories and social issues familiar to Malaysians.
Customers will be able to enjoy Unifi TV Original series and movies starting with the first series of “Nak Dengar Cerita Hantu?” directed by Sabri Yunus and written by Sophillea. This is an 8-episode series of Malaysian urban legends and folklore tales passed down through generations. The casts featuring renowned local talents such as Namron, Beto Kusyairi, Nora Danish, Uqasha Senrose, Elizabeth Tan, Sean Lee, Thanuja and more will ensure the series remain a true Malaysian affair. Catch the premier of the series on 27 October 2023 with new episodes every Friday at 9.00pm, exclusively on DEGUP (Unifi TV channel 120). Viewers who missed the 9.00pm time slot, will be able to catch the episode through Unifi TV’s Catch Up feature. The series can also be streamed over the Unifi TV app.

(Bara Jiwa series) with well-known directors and cast like Sabri Yunus, Osman Ali, Amorizan, Elisya Sandha, Ezzrin Loy, Yasmin Hani and many more, Unifi TV aspires to produce high-quality and exciting content, for its viewers through Unifi TV Originals.
“The rest of the original series spanning action, horror and thriller genres will be released in the next 12 months. Working with experienced talents in the industry will ensure the delivery of top-quality drama series and movies and we hope that this produces the best content for our Unifi TV subscribers while supporting development of the local entertainment industry,” concluded Anand.

TM Committed For Success Of TVET Madani
Following the official launch of ‘Portal TVET Madani’ and the exchange of Memorandum of Collaboration with the Government today, TM has reaffirmed its commitment to the success of TVET Madani through its tailored vocational education modules along with RM3.5 million contribution for training facilities and scholarship. TM is presently in the final stage of discussions with several TVET institutions to form partnerships that will help transform these institutions into industry-ready technical development centres, towards enhancing the employability of their graduates. This will be achieved through the introduction of industry-relevant modules on fibre networks and digital skillsets, the certification of trainers aligning to industry standards, as well as examinations for student certification. The company plans to develop highly qualified and experienced instructors among its partner institutions to provide expert guidance, especially for B40 students, throughout their vocational journey, and to offer mentorship and support to help them succeed. TM also plans to equip its partner institutions with access to requisite facilities, relevant modern equipment and technology that will provide students with hands-on learning experience that prepares them for real-world fibre network and digital work. TM shall invest RM2.5 million to upgrade the facilities and equipment to selected TVET institutions and a further RM1 million in scholarships for students from the B40 group. As a start, this will facilitate employment opportunities for close to 400 graduates per year to work within its business eco-system. “TM is pleased to announce its commitment to the Government’s TVET Madani initiative through a comprehensive programme that will address the entire value chain. unifi TV service disruption nationwide, service estimated to resume later this evening
At approximately 9:50pm on 3 January 2022, unifi TV services experienced service disruption nationwide due to impact to the power system triggered by a fire that affected the “Uninterruptible Power Supply” (UPS) equipment at TM IT Complex in Cyberjaya. The Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia (Bomba) took control of the situation to extinguish the fire and ensure the safety of the premises. We have received the necessary building assessment and clearance from Bomba at 4.00am. The building block was not in full operation at the time, with only a small number of employees on site. There have been no reports of injuries. The cause of the fire is unknown at this stage and TM will fully cooperate with any investigation as required by authorities. An immediate announcement has been released on TM’s social media channels to notify our affected customers and we have since ramped up our customer service engagements to attend to calls and enquiries. This incident has caused unifi TV service interruptions affecting close to 300,000 of our unifi TV viewers. Other TM and unifi services are not affected. We are working tirelessly with our contractors and engineering teams to ensure that services are being restored gradually, with power restoration expected to be completed by 12 noon today. unifi TV is estimated to resume its services by 3.00pm today. However, TMpoint Cyberjaya will remain closed temporarily due to low power supply. We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused our customers, and will continue to prioritise the safety and well-being of our employees and contractors during this restoration process.
