UPDATE: RESTORATION OF INTERNATIONAL DATA LINK TO EUROPE


Update [16 December, 2014]:

RESTORATION COMPLETION TIME REVISED​
Please be informed that the estimated time to restoration of the repair works to the South East Asia-Middle East –Western Europe 4 (SMW4) submarine cable network system providing international data links to the Europe has been revised to December 16, due to challenging sea conditions and additional repairs required.

Update [10 December, 2014]: Works to restore the South East Asia–Middle East-Western Europe 4 (SMW4) link is currently in progress and is expected to be completed by 11 December 2014. In the meantime, we have taken measures to optimise bandwidth utilisation via other international links to ensure that your online experience is relatively uninterrupted.

​We have detected a fault on the South East Asia–Middle East-Western Europe (SMW4) submarine cable providing international data link to Europe.​

Due to this, UniFi and Streamyx users may experience:

  1. ​Slow browsing when accessing sites and servers hosted in Europe

  2. Less than ideal call quality when making and receiving VOIP calls to and from Europe

  3. Less than ideal online gaming performance when using servers hosted in Europe

  4. Customers using Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) and other critical business applications linked to Europe may also experience some level of service degradation. 

 To ensure that any performance degradation caused by these interruption are minimised, we have immediately taken pro-active steps to optimise bandwidth utilisation on other international links, while we work with the SMW4 submarine cable consortium members to restore data connectivity to its optimum quality as soon as possible

ANGGARAN MASA PEMULIHAN DIPINDA
Adalah dimaklumkan bahawa anggaran masa pemulihan kerja-kerja pembaikan kepada sistem kabel dasar laut South East Asia–Middle East-Western Europe 4 (SMW4) telah dipinda kepada 16 Disember akibat keadaan cuaca yang tidak menentu dan kerja-kerja tambahan yang perlu dilakukan.

Terkini [10 Disember, 2014]: Kerja-kerja baikpulih South East Asia–Middle East-Western Europe 4 (SMW4) sedang giat dijalankan dan dijangka selesai pada 11 Disember 2014. Pada masa yang sama, kami telah mengambil langkah-langkah untuk mengoptimumkan penggunaan jalur lebar menerusi pautan rangkaian antarabangsa lain untuk memastikan pengalaman internet anda tidak terganggu.

Kami ingin memaklumkan terdapat kerosakan pada sambungan kabel dasar laut South East Asia–Middle East-Western Europe (SMW4) yang menyediakan pautan data antarabangsa ke Eropah.

​Oleh kerana ini, pengguna UniFi dan Streamyx mungkin akan mengalami:

  1. ​Gangguan akses ke laman web dan pelayan yang dihoskan di Eropah

  2. Gangguan kualiti panggilan semasa membuat dan menerima panggilan VOIP ke Eropah

  3. Prestasi kurang ideal apabila menggunakan pelayan dihoskan di Eropah untuk permainan atas talian

  4. Pelanggan yang menggunakan Rangkaian Persendirian Maya (VPN) dan aplikasi perniagaan kritikal yang berhubung Eropah juga mungkin mengalami penurunan prestasi perkhidmatan.

Untuk memastikan bahawa sebarang penurunan prestasi yang disebabkan oleh kerosakan ini dikurangkan, kami telah mengambil langkah-langkah pro-aktif segera untuk mengoptimumkan penggunaan jalur lebar pada pautan antarabangsa yang lain. Pada masa yang sama kami sedang bekerjasama dengan ahli konsortium kabel dasar laut tersebut untuk memulihkan sambungan data terbabit ke kualiti yang optimum secepat mungkin.​
