HYPPTV LAUNCHES ITS FIRST LIFESTYLE FOOD SHOW ‘1 JAM MAKAN’ ON HYPPSENSASI

HyppTV customers can now enjoy more lifestyle content on HyppSensasi

​Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) via its award winning IPTV service, HyppTV, today officially launched '1 JAM MAKAN', its new and the first lifestyle food show broadcasted exclusively on HyppSensasi, HyppTV Channel 116. The premiere episode of the show was broadcasted on 16 August 2015 and the programme will be aired every Sunday at 9.30 p.m.

'1 JAM MAKAN' is produced by Friedchillies Food Network, the same local content provider that brings Malaysia's first food Video On Demand channel on HyppTV Channel 838. The '1 JAM MAKAN' programme will bring you to the best foodie spots in and around the Klang Valley, from roadside stalls, hip cafes and nice restaurants serving all sorts of delicious food. From the huge range of dishes at Restoran Sambal Hijau in Kampung Sungai Penchala to delectable sweets from the likes of Jaslyn Cakes in Bangsar and Miss Ellie Tea House in Taman Melawati. From local classics like nasi lemak in Selayang to newest trends like a secret mocktail hang out in Subang Jaya, there is bound to be something to tantalise everyone's tastebuds and food curiosity on the show.

The new lifestyle food show was officially launched by Jeremy Kung, Executive Vice President, New Media, TM. The event was also attended by Emily Wee, Vice President Executive, Business and Media Operation, New Media, TM, Mohd Adly Rizal, Chief Executive Officer and Founder, FriedChillies Food Network, Honey Ahmad, Executive Producer of '1 JAM MAKAN' as well as Anita Woo and Chef Eddie, hosts for the '1 JAM MAKAN' programme.

Commenting on the new programme, Jeremy said "With food related content being a staple in Malaysian's diet curiosity, we are very excited to bring to you a unique food programme such as '1 Jam Makan' which not only features the latest must visit eating places in Klang Valley, but also tailors the content to the urban and multiracial viewers of HyppTV. This is also the first programme on HyppSensasi produced by FriedChillies Food, the experts in food related content who have brought us the famous 'I Eat Nasi Lemak' and 'I Eat Burgers' event series in Kuala Lumpur. The collaboration with FriedChillies Network reflects our commitment in promoting local contents and supporting the growth of local content providers."

"The programme is also available on our mobile app offering, HyppTV Everywhere so you can watch it even when you're not at home, while on the move. This latest programme further enhances the existing exciting content line-up on our HyppSensasi channel, which is available as part of our HyppTV Aneka Pack offering at RM31.80 a month with no additional HD fee. The package also includes other local as well as Asian channels such as Dunia Sinema, MNC, Sony Max, and many more," he added. 

A food exploration and information programme, '1 Jam Makan' is hosted by engaging foodies, Chef Eddie and Anita Woo. Chef Eddie is resident chef of FriedChillies Food Network with the hit cooking show, "Western Masak Sempoi" on Fried Chillies Food, HyppTV channel 838 while Anita Woo is a talented and endearing newscaster and radio DJ. 

Chef Eddie when asked about the programme said, "I think I gained a few kilos throughout the shoot, but it was worthwhile. We got to discover not just new places, but also rediscovered some old favourites too, like gulai tempoyak ikan patin and banana leaf rice." 

Anita Woo added, "It was great meeting so many interesting foodies along the way. Not only did we get to try excellent food, but it was really inspiring to know that Malaysia has a lot of passionate food entrepreneurs."

"We wanted to do a 'makan' show that is more than just walking around and eating. We wanted a show with more depth, something more visceral like going into the kitchen with the cooks and seeing the food in all its loving detail.We did extensive research for the show from tracking what food fans have followed on websites and social media, to going down to farms and into hot kitchens talking to food experts. As for the documentaries, we wanted to answer some questions Malaysian foodies have in their heads, for instance, how are free range chickens raised locally and how an artisanal baker makes his bread? We have always been curious to know more about what goes on behind the scenes of the food world and this show reflects that,"  Honey Ahmad, the Executive Producer of the programme said.

'1 Jam Makan' goes a step further by featuring mini documentaries detailing exceptionally interesting food entrepreneurs, expert cooks, chefs and their businesses. '1 Jam Makan' will take you exploring a freshwater fish enterprise, organic chicken and vegetable farms and a peek into the lives of artisanal food makers perfecting their craft from making ice cream, peanut butter and even local kuih. Not only that, the programme will also share some exclusive recipes! Viewers can learn how to make easy yet scrumptious dishes like a Roasted Leg of Lamb, Peanut Butter French Toast and even an express Kerabu Kacang Panjang.

In addition to '1 Jam Makan', the new drama series 'Jodoh Sebelah Pintu' starring Emma Maembong, Kamal Adli, Lia Natalia and Erwin Dawson also recently premiered on HyppSensasi in July. HyppSensasi, HyppTV's first own local entertainment channel is offered to HyppTV subscribers as part of HyppTV Aneka Pek at only RM31.80 per month or ala carte at RM6 per month. The channel is also available for subscription via mobila app, HyppTV Everywhere for multi screen users at RM6 per month.
