1. What is 1525?

1525 is one way of accessing the Internet via full digital public network that delivers competitive advantage by allowing you to do business faster, more economical and more efficient. It provides an end-to-end digital dial-up service that can carry multimedia applications such as voice, data, image and video at high speed from 64Kbps to 128Kbps. With ISDN, users can continue to make normal telephone and fax calls as they add fast Internet access, Intranet, e-mail, video conferencing and LAN communication to their business.


2. Are there other ways to access to the Internet for a faster speed?

Besides 1525, accessing the Internet can be done in one of the following ways:
i. Direct
ii. Streamyx (depending on service availability)


3. What are the coverage areas of 1525?

You need to dial 1525 for 1525 access. The 1525 service is now available NATIONWIDE. IMPORTANT: 1525 subscribers can still dial the 8/7/6 digit access as shown in table below. Please take note of the differences in the usage charges between 1525 and 8/7/6 digit access. Call charge for the 8/7/6 digit ISDN access numbers below is based on local call charge. Long distance charge may apply if you dial outside your local area. Before using any of these local ISDN access numbers, please contact Telekom Malaysia at 103 or 1050 to verify that the access number you have chosen will be a local call for you. TM is not responsible for any long distance charges as a result of dialing any of the ISDN access numbers provided.

4. What are the hardware and software requirements to get connection to the Internet through 1525?

You will need a computer, an ISDN modem (Terminal Adapter) and an ISDN line (application for ISDN line can be made at one of the listed TMpoint.

By subscribing to TM's Integrated Services Digital Network (TMISDN) line, you will be able to communicate through high speed, high quality voice and data transmission lines.

5. Can I buy my hardware from TM?

No.


6. Where can I get the hardware required?

ISDN modem, available at most computer shops. However, you will find that branded modems tend to be more reliable. It is also advisable to get an external modem because it has status lights that indicate the modem's condition.

If you do not have a personal computer and plan to get one, please make sure that the above requirements are met.

10. How to register as a TM user?

a. What is the process of registration?
  1. You can register and make payment at:
TMpoint or
Clickers Authorised Service Outlet (CASO),

*Please bring along a copy of your IC or passport and ROC for organization plus a copy of your utility bill
  2. You will be given an ID account, username and password. You are reminded to change your password immediately and regularly at http://tmbill.tm.net.my.
    Get a valid username and password after your installation is complete.
b. Can I register online without going to any of these places?
No.

11. How do I configure the software?

12. What are the email clients being supported?

We only support Netscape Messenger, Microsoft Outlook Express, Internet Mail, Nestcape Mail, and Microsoft Inbox.

14. How much storage or size is provided for the mailbox?

We provide 4 MB for mailbox storage (2 MB for incoming and 2MB for outgoing). However, customers can upgrade their mail size storage and charges are as follows: -

Note: The service for additional e-mail space for 1515 account will be charged annually. If customers wish to terminate this service, kindly inform before the following year's billing cycle. TM reserves the right to amend the terms and condition contained at any time and customers shall be bound to the terms and condition amended.

15. How do I get customer support from TM?

16. How do I terminate my 1525 account?

(i) Termination can only be done via walk in to TMpoint/CASO or via letters only. Application via fax or e-mail will not be entertained.
(ii) A copy of ROC must accompany termination via letters for Organisation Category and a copy of IC for all other categories. All letters must include the amount due via cheque/money order, postal order, and other payment mode currently acceptable. Latest bill can be obtained from the net.
(iii) For termination via walk in to TMpoint/CASO, customers will have to settle the amount outstanding and closing of account can be done by producing the IC to the counter staff
(iv) Customer should be reminded that they will receive one last final bill and upon settlement of that last amount before the account can be closed.

17. Where do I register and what do I need to bring for registration?

You can register at any TMpoint/CASO outlet nationwide.
