1. What is Direct?

Direct is one of the most premium service of TM Berhad. It is an Internet access service intended for corporate & business organisation, which provides Internet connectivity via a dedicated digital link between the office network to the Internet, 24 hours a day. Direct provides a direct broadband connectivity between customer’s premise and TM's Internet node over a private communication channel.

Direct consists of:

  • Dedicated Digital Link

- SONET/SDH TDM(Time Division Multiplexing) based lease line (The below  telecommunication technologies will be considered upon request and availability of the infrastructure).
- Digitaline II (E1 TDM)
- Metro Ethernet

  • Internet access



2. Why Direct?

  • Guaranteed bandwidth for the last mile portion (last mile refers to the connection from customer premise to the terminating TM's Internet node).
  • 24 hours ‘always on’ connection.
  • Prioritisation of traffic to the International Backbone as compared to traffic from other internet services.

  • Cost effective for extensive use of heavy multimedia applications

5. What is the minimum subscription period for Direct?
The minimum subscription fee for Direct is 12 months. A penalty will be imposed for service termination before the minimum subscription period.

7. What is the payment period/billing frequency available for Direct? 
You can choose to make the payment on a monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and yearly basis.


8. Can I have more than one Direct line?
Yes.


9. Can I upgrade/downgrade the speed of the service?
Yes. A minimal upgrade fee will be charged based on the speed required.
