Direct Dial In, or sometimes known as Direct Inward Dialing (DID) is a facility which allows the caller to access an extension direct without the help of an operator. Generally it is serviced through a PABX.
Product Application
Direct Dial In allows the caller to reach a subscriber's extension directly. It reduces congestion at the PABX, reduces call set-up time and increases reliability. Subscribers also have a better chance of successful calls, subsequently increasing sales and improving business opportunities.
Direct Dial In lines are dedicated for incoming calls only. The number of Direct Dial In lines required will depend on the size of the PABX system. A special numbering system will be provided for DDI subscribers. Customers who have PABX with more than 100 extensions are advised to consider Direct Dial In.
