1. What is iTalk International Airtime Transfer?
iTalk International Airtime Transfer is a service which allows instant prepaid airtime transfer from one country to another using mobile phone.

2. Who should use the service?
The service should be used by people living abroad who would like to transfer airtime from overseas to their friends and family’s prepaid mobile account back home in a fast, easy to use and affordable way. The user must be registered to iTalk, and uses Celcom, Maxis or Digi only. U-Mobile does not support this service.

3. To which country can I transfer the airtime?
The airtime can be transferred to participating countries which include Indonesia, China, Philippines, Pakistan, Vietnam, Laos, India, Nepal & Sri Lanka

4. What is the minimum balance required in my iTalk card for me to perform the transfer?
The minimum balance shall be accordance to the denomination selected by the user. The transfer can be made so long as the subscriber has enough credit on the iTalk account to transfer the selected denomination.

5. What are the available denominations for each country?

6. Is there a limit as to how much I can transfer in a day?
No except on India. Several operators limit to 3 successful transactions per day to the same destination number (Vodafone, Airtel, Aircel).

7. How much am I charged for each transfer?
Apart from the denomination charges, you will also be charged between 15 to 20 sen for each SMS, dependant on the mobile service provider.

8. In what currency is the airtime received?
The currency shall be dependant on the destination number. For example, if the transfer is made to an Indonesia number, the airtime shall be received in Indonesia Rupiah.

9. How do I make the transfer?
The airtime transfer is simply done via SMS. To initiate the transfer, the user is given 2 options

  1. TX <destination number><denomination in RM>
  2. TX <destination number>

If the available denominations are already known by the user, he/she may type option (i) else, kindly opt for option 2. Either message should be sent to 36878. The user shall wait for a reply from iTalk and follow the guide to complete the transfer.

10. In what language is the SMS?

The language shall be dependant on the destination country. For example, if the airtime is transferred to an Indonesia number, both the sender and receiver shall receive the SMS in Bahasa Indonesia. The list of language to be used can be seen in the following table.

11. How do I know the status of the transfer (success/fail)?
Both sender and receiver shall receive notification on the transfer status via SMS.

12. Can I transfer airtime while I'm roaming in another country (International Roaming)?
No.

13. Can I perform the transfer in other denominations which are not listed in the pamphlet?
No. The amount that can be transferred is only accordance to the denominations specified.

14. Will I need any PIN number to use the service?
No. This is a pin-less transaction. No PIN is involved.

15. What happens if the recipient’s mobile phone is already terminated when the airtime credit are transferred?
The transaction will be unsuccessful. The credit sender will be refunded on the amount deducted.

16. Are there monthly charges for the service?
No.

17. What should I do if my iTalk card is deducted but the airtime is not received by the receiver?
You may contact TM contact center to investigate the transfer and request for refund in case the dispute is valid.

18. Where can I get further information about the product?
You may contact TM contact center at 100 to get further information about the product.

19. Who shall I contact in case of failure of transfer?
You may contact TM contact centre at 100 to check on the transfer status.
