Leading up to the FIFA World Cup tournament in South Africa in June this year, Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) continues with its TM’s World Football Heroes Carnival roadshow, making the fourth stop at AEON Jusco Bandaraya in Melaka, this weekend, 30 April – 2 May 2010 after previous stops in Perak, Penang and Johor.
Sherene Azura Azli, Vice President of Group Marketing, TM pointed out, “This carnival, which attracted more than 50,000 visitors up north in Perak and Penang, and 21,000 visitors in down south Johor, over the space of three (3) days at each venue, follows TM’s recent signing of a license agreement with the England Football Association (The FA) as the Official England Telco Licensee in Malaysia. TM recognizes the football game’s spirit and passion that football fans generate. The World Football Heroes Carnival is TM’s latest initiative to bring football closer to our customers and all football fans in Malaysia. This roadshow is just one of the activities we have embarked on this year to reinforce our commitment and passion to support Malaysia’s number one sport, football. Hype around the 2010 FIFA World Cup event is already gathering pace and our promotional campaign today is just one way for TM to give back to our loyal customers.”
The carnival, which has a total of 10 stopovers at selected major cities nationwide, will feature a massive exhibition featuring football history on display and also interactive fun and games at the carnival.
The carnival ground will be broken into: The World Football Heroes: Heroes on Display, World Cup Heritage, World Football Interactive Games – where visitors can show off their skills at foosball and Playstation 3 games, World Football Virtual Tunnel, World Football Heroes Dream Manager as well as sales counter for TM’s products and services such as Streamyx and iTalk prepaid calling cards.
The main attraction at the carnival would be the TM Million Kick Challenge where public can put their football scoring skills to the test for a chance to win a prize worth RM10,000 at each location. Last weekend’s Johor edition saw Mohd Rahseed Nisran from Larkin, crowned as the state champion and is automatically in the run for the RM1 million at the grand finale event which will be held at Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur on 11 July 2010, where he will be joined by other state champions.
