Also present were Dato' Kamaruddin Siaraf, Secretary General, Ministry of Information, Communications and Culture, Dato' Dr. Mohd Ali Bin Mohamad Nor, Deputy Secretary General, Ministry of Information, Communications and Culture and Tan Sri Khalid Ramli, Chairman of the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) .
At the launching ceremony, Y.B. Dato’ Seri Utama Dr. Rais Yatim said, “I am happy to see that TM is making serious effort to provide the best service to its customers. This is in line with the Government’s aspirations, “People First, Performance Now. This emphasizes TM’s commitment in serving the community and at the same time, create better awareness of ICT among the ‘rakyat.”
Datuk Dr. Halim Shafie, Chairman of TM enthused, “We are very excited to launch TMOW to the market. TMOW enables us to reach out to customers and complement our existing 105 TMpoints nationwide. By bringing our services to the customers’ doorsteps, TMOW provides an avenue for us to interact more with customers.”
“I also would like to highlight that with the introduction of TMOW, TM now has close to 1,300 frontliners at our TMpoint and additional 30 serving TMOW. This is over and above the existing 1,700 customer service representatives that we have at all our call centres nationwide to entertain customer calls, enquiries and complaints on our products and services. Meanwhile, an additional 1,600 are currently undergoing training and will be ready to serve customers within 2 months time. This will enable us to deploy more than 3,300 frontliners at the call centres soon,” Datuk Halim added.
Dato’ Zamzamzairani Mohd Isa, Group Chief Executive Officer of TM, “Interestingly, in addition to the services that the TMOW provides to customer, it also has some unique features. One of the unique features of TMOW is that it provides a “Broadband Clinic”, a special corner where customers can enquire about their Internet services, including troubleshooting and get consultation on the guidelines to self-maintain their computers for optimum performance. TMOW also utilizes a satellite dish to facilitate its operations and offers free Internet access service for the public. Meanwhile, individuals who are within 50 meter radius from the TMOW will be able to enjoy free WiFi services. TMOW also operates during weekends to provide more convenience to the customers. In addition, as part of our efforts in supporting the government’s call for the adoption of green technology, TM has installed solar panels on TMOW to supply the primary electrical power for the equipments. The solar panels also enable TM to save the vehicles’ operational costs.”
