In celebration of Malaysia's upcoming 53rd anniversary of Merdeka, Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) in collaboration with Sony Malaysia is inviting Malaysians to capture and immortalize the essence of the Merdeka and 1Malaysia spirit through a photo contest.
Utilizing the Merdeka celebrations as a platform, the contest which runs from 15 August – 9 September 2010, is hoped to build a greater sense of awareness around the essence and meaning of Merdeka celebrations and also the 1Malaysia concept.
Rozalila Abdul Rahman, Chief Marketing Officer, TM said, “Photographs, evoke feelings, and tell stories. A good photograph stirs up emotions. From a light hearted image of a cat tangled in thread to a feeling of horror over an image of war, photographs make the viewer feel something strongly. Through this contest, we hope to awaken the 1Malaysian spirit of Malaysians through the power of photography.”
Open to TM and Sony customers, those who are interested to participate, need only purchase an iTalk prepaid calling card (minimum RM10 in value) which will enable them to submit their photos on the contest website (http://www.tm.com.my/ap/sony/Pages/contest.aspx). Each RM10 worth of iTalk prepaid calling card entitles the contestant for one (1) contest entry submission; i.e. RM10=1 entry, RM20=2 entries, and so forth.
Participants need to fill in the entry form with their personal details and iTalk card’s 12 digit numbers before they proceed uploading their pictures. The photo images must be less than 500KB and in jpeg format.
Participants are invited to upload as much as they like based on the value of iTalk cards purchased. Upon successful submission, the photos would first be evaluated by contest administrators. If the photo qualifies/meets the criteria, it will then be published in the Photo Gallery section of the website within 3 working days upon submission.
Each submission should include the following elements in the photos; (i) TM logo or products, (ii) Sony logo or products, and (iii) the Malaysian flag. The winners will be selected based on the most creative photo which combines the three elements above and also highlighting the spirit of Merdeka and 1Malaysia.
The winning submission chosen by TM and Sony appointed judges will be in the running to win a Grand Prize of a Sony Digital SLR camera! Four other selected winners will also stand a chance to win themselves a Sony Cyber Shot digital camera each.
