In line with its goal to promote and maintain transparency in its business operations, Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) has recently begun a directory confirmation exercise for its TM Homeline customers. With this new customer service initiative, customers can now have the option of having their details that include names, addresses and fixed telephone numbers listed on or otherwise removed from the TM Directory service. Hence, TM has recently issued a letter to its customers to seek confirmation of their agreement for TM to disclose their details, i.e., their name, telephone number and address via TM Directory services, such as the TM White Pages Directory and the 103 directory assistance service.
For current TM Homeline customers who wish to remove their names and contact details from the TM Directory service, all they have to do is fill in a form that has been sent by TM or download the form from TM’s corporate website at www.tm.com.my (refer to Appendix). Alternatively, customers can also visit the nearest TMpoint outlet to obtain the form. All existing subscribers of TM’s X-Directory service will also have to fill in the form if they wish to remain unlisted. However, customers who wish to remain listed in the TM Directory do not need to respond.
This opt-out option is offered to existing TM Homeline customers, while new customers who register after 1st July 2009 will be given the opt-in option for their details to be included in the directory listing.
Customers can submit the form to TM at the nearest TMpoint outlet, or via post addressed to Telekom Malaysia Berhad, Level 16, TM Annexe 2, Jalan Pantai Baharu, 50672 Kuala Lumpur or via email to tmxd@tm.com.my by 31 July 2009.
For more information or enquiries on the TM X-Directory service, please contact 03-2246 5526. For more information on TM and its products as well services, call TM Contact Centre at 100 or visit www.tm.com.my.
