SMEs in Kedah now have a choice of subscribing to mybizpoint via an additional channel, making it more convenient and easy for them. Made possible by a strategic collaborative tie-up between Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) and Herba Prima Marketing Sdn Bhd (HPM), all SMEs, particularly those operating in Kedah, can now subscribe to TM products and services as well as sign up as a merchant for TM’s very own new e-marketplace portal platform and online business community, mybizpoint.
Under the agreement, TM has appointed HPM as a partner authorized to sell mybizpoint. In addition, TM has also authorized HPM as a TM Managed Service Provider (MSP) or agent to promote the business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-customer (B2C) platform to other Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) via mybizpoint.TM and HPM will also develop joint marketing initiatives to promote mybizpoint, and broadband services, to registered distributors and users of HPM products.
Present at the event to signify the strategic collaboration between the companies were Pauziah Taib, State General Manager, TM Kedah and Perlis and Dr. Che Rozmey Che Din, founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), HPM. The signing ceremony took place during the SME BizNet2 seminar in Sg. Petani, Kedah. SME BizNet seminar serves as a platform for TM SME product and services updates.
According to Pauziah Taib, the collaboration with HPM will open a new avenue for more health-related products and services to be made available via mybizpoint.com.
“TM would like to welcome HPM as the first mybizpoint customer from the Pharmaceutical industry. Through this strategic partnership, we aim to leverage on HPM’s extensive distributors and customers network not only in Kedah, but also nationwide in order to promote our SME products and services. We will provide the mybizpoint platform for HPM to facilitate e-business as well as consultation and technical expertise related to the business-to-business platform,” added Pauziah.
Through this collaboration, SMEs will be able to expect more applications that will enhance their business value upwards, utilizing mybizpoint as a tool in reaching out to other businesses and customers.
“In keeping with our focus on providing value-adding and value-enhancing services, TM is now moving forward from not only providing telephony and broadband services to also providing applications that will increase the business value of our SMEs. We want to give more focus in supporting the growth of SMEs at state and national levels, as well as improve the SME customer experience. ICT also helps SMEs to cut costs by improving internal processes, enhancing their products through faster communication channels with customers and better promote and distribute their products through online methods.

In addition to HPM, TM will be collaborating with more business partners in the future in order to reach out to more SME customers. Currently, TM is providing the platform for The Great ICT Sale, an initiative by MDEC to encourage eCommerce in Malaysia. By providing mybizpoint as the platform, TM is supporting the Government’s efforts to stimulate Malaysian SME growth and support new business opportunities. The Great ICT Sale runs from 20th July 2009 till 20th August 2009. Apart from private corporations, as a key strategic partner of Small and Medium Industries Development Corporation or SMIDEC since 2005, TM has always been actively involved in various programmes together with SMIDEC for the SME segment at the national and state levels.
