Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) recently signed a business partnership agreement with CPCNet Hong Kong Limited (CPCNet), a wholly-owned subsidiary of CITIC 1616 Holding Limited to provide CPCNet with managed ICT services including Multi Protocol Label Switching Virtual Private Network (MPLS VPN), Metro-E and Managed Customer Premise Equipment (CPE).
Under the partnership agreement, CPCNet will establish a new Point of Presence (POP) in Malaysia, located at TM Carrier Neutral Data Centre in Kuala Lumpur. The new POP will enable CPCNet to fulfill the increasing needs of its corporate customers by leveraging on TM’s extensive domestic access and capacity. The new POP is scheduled to be commissioned in September 2009.
The partnership will further extend the two companies’ network reach through the combination of TM’s strong network and service capabilities in Malaysia and CPCNet’s 27 managed POPs in China. This will boost the international connectivity between China and Malaysia, hence providing better access for customers of both companies.
The partnership will also enable TM, as Malaysia’s leading new generation communications provider and CPCNet, a regional renowned communications and security solution partner, to enhance the value of products and services provided to their respective customers, both in Malaysia and China by delivering more economic and competitive offerings in serving their different business needs.
The companies’ collaboration was ratified in a signing ceremony held recently in Kuala Lumpur. Dato’ Adnan Rofiee, Group Chief Operating Officer, TM and Rozaimy Abdul Rahman, Executive Vice President, Global, TM represented TM at the event while CPCNet was represented by Stephen Ho, Chief Executive Officer of CPCNet and Joel Ma, Executive Vice President, International Business, CPCNet.
