TM Info-Media (TMIM), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) which publishes the business directory, Yellow Pages, recently embarked on a contest for the public by only downloading the online version of the Yellow Pages, e-Yellow Pages from its website.
The contest, aptly called “Go Holiday with Yellow Pages” is a contest open for all and is currently ongoing for three (3) months starting 1 July 2010 until 30 September 2010.
It’s so easy to participate in the contest. Members of the public just need to visit the Yellow Pages official website at www.yellowpages.com.my to download the e-Yellow Pages. Before downloading the e-Yellow Pages, participants are required to provide their e-mail address and once the online directory has been successfully downloaded, the contest form will be send to the e-mail provided. Participants will need to answer 3 simple questions about Yellow Pages and submit their answers by replying to the e-mail.
“The e-Yellow Pages was made available on the Internet since early 2009. This contest is one of our initiatives to create awareness amongst the public on e-Yellow Pages as well as to encourage them to download the online version of the Yellow Pages. e-Yellow Pages not only provides more convenience for the public to view the directory listing anytime, anywhere but it also gives the ‘look and feel’ of a book, including the page flipping,” said Nasaruddin Mohd. Zaini, Chief Executive Officer, TMIM.
Each month, TMIM will be flying three lucky winners to renowned holiday destinations in Medan, Indonesia and Phuket, Thailand. The three (3) lucky winners will be selected based on the correct answers and the prizes are:
Placing
Prize
1st prize
2 Firefly return tickets to Phuket
2nd prize
1 Firefly return ticket to Phuket
3rd prize
1 Firefly return ticket to Medan
The good news is customers can submit as many entries as they wish. So, the more entries that you submit, the higher your chance to win the prizes!
“Besides providing more convenience to the customers and opening more avenues to the advertisers to promote their companies, the production of e-Yellow Pages is also in line with TM Group’s aspirations to become a ‘greener’ organization. On top of that, it also provides an additional medium for public to access the directory other than the printed version, hence help to save our environment,” Nasaruddin further elaborated.
With e-Yellow Pages as a new source of high-quality directory information, customers can view the directory at their convenience, anytime, anywhere by downloading it into their PC or laptop. The digitization of Yellow Pages is made possible with a special proprietary software, licensed from an International company which has significantly reduced the file size of the directory to about 10-15 times that of many readable files available today, making it easier to download and store into the computer. Once it has been downloaded into their PC or laptop, the digital directory can be used and viewed as many time as possible.
Customers can also enjoy more interactivity as they can obtain more information about any particular product or services by clicking on the advertiser’s advertisement in the e-Yellow Pages, which will then link customers directly to the advertiser’s official website.
In addition, viewing is also made easier with e-Yellow Pages. The digital directory is completely scalable, making it easy to fit any screen size and yet maintaining the full page of the directory. Customers would be able to view the directory without the need to scroll downward or sideways.
As compared to the printed Yellow Pages which is printed once a year, e-Yellow Pages is updated twice a year. This will greatly benefit the advertisers as they can have their advertisements available to the masses much faster and reap the benefits of potential sales quickly.
