Program PINTAR
PINTAR is all about Promoting Intelligence, Nurturing Talent and Advocating Responsibility. It is a collaborative corporate responsibility initiative carried out by the Government Linked Companies (GLCs) in Malaysia to foster academic excellence particularly in rural schools.PINTAR was designed to support and build capacity for schools through the GLC Transformation programme, using the guiding principles and best practices framework found in the Silver Book. The framework for the programme focuses on educational excellence particularly amongst the less privileged and vulnerable communities. Under this programme, which is initiated by the Ministry of Finance and implemented by Khazanah Nasional’s Transformation Management Office, TM adopted two schools in 2007, namely, Sekolah Kebangsaan Bukit Indera Muda (SKBIM) Sekolah Kebangsaan Seri Penanti (SKSP), both in Bukit Mertajam, Penang. TM’s main objective is to encourage academic excellence, increase awareness and capability building in ICT knowledge and skills amongst students and teachers of both these rural schools so as to allow them an even playing field with their urban counterparts. Among the activities carried out to support these objectives are teambuilding (for students and teachers), IT training for teachers and students, and character development programmes. Bridging the digital divide is one of TM’s CR focus under its community and nation-building platform. TM invested more than RM400,000.00 towards this programme, which ran for a 3-year period, from 2007 until 2009.
Following the success of the pilot project of PINTAR in SKBIM and SKSP, another two schools were selected as TM's PINTAR schools as an extension to the first phase. Sekolah Kebangsaan Tembak in Kuala Ketil, Kedah and Sekolah Kebangsaan Seri Bandan, Kluang, Johor are the two schools that will also benefit from the PINTAR modules and programmes starting 2010 until 2012. TM will be investing more than RM300,00.00 for this extension programme and adapting the strengths and values gained from the previous phase that will be complemented with additional approaches to enrich the teaching and the learning processes in both schools, and at the same time, increasing the active involvement of the surrounding community in the programmes.
Projek Sekolah Angkat Bersama KPKK & TM
Projek Sekolah Angkat Bersama KPKK & TM is a collaboration between TM and the Ministry of Information, Communications and Culture in upgrading the IT facilities and telecommunications infrastructure at schools in suburban areas. The programme has a three-pronged objective: to introduce the use of ICT in education, to introduce schools as community centre for ICT knowledge dissemination and to bridge the digital divide. Under this programme, starting July 2009, TM has adopted two schools in Negeri Sembilan (Sekolah Kebangsaan Teriang and Sekolah Menengah Agama Repah) and one school in Sarawak (Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Pakan).
PROGRAM SEJAHTERA
Program Sejahtera is a community programme driven by Khazanah Nasional together with the GLCs towards improving the standard of living and social economies of the community, as well as providing sustainable living, especially for the poor across the country. After the launch of the programme in September 2009 by YAB Prime Minister of Malaysia, TM has taken the initiative in support of the overall programme.
To date, three families from districts in Pahang have been identified and adopted by TM. For these families, various programmes have been formulated and implemented. Such programmes include entrepreneurship courses for single mothers and education assistance for the deserving children. This also includes the donation of home essentials and clothing from TM's NGOs such as Tiaranita, Kelab TM and BAKIT, and also from individual volunteers.

As well as promoting this encouragement, we are also committed to addressing the needs of those most disadvantaged in society through our donation activities. We're proud to play our part in supporting the community where we operate in. We continue to show our support by giving in-kind donations and contributions to organisations and charity events such as Relay for Life and to the Gaza Relief Fund.
