TM was the Platinum Sponsor at the Experiencing Convergence. MyBroadband '08 which was held at KL Convention Centre on the 28th - 30th October 2008. The theme for the expo was 'Collaboration & Innovation'. TM showcased & collaborated with MCMC on the Digital Home. TM also created awareness and educated the public on HSBB.
With the theme 'Collaboration & Innovation', the expo will be held collated with the regulators Forum which will bring together over 500 delegates and 20,000 visitors representing regulators, telcos, major corporations, SMEs and student groups.
Besides TM being the Platinum Sponsor for both conference and exhibition, there was also other telco / mobile players as Gold Sponsors at the exhibition such as Maxis, DiGi, and Celcom. Rock the World (RTW) concert has been running for 7 years, a one of its kind rock music festival in Malaysia. It is a platform where some of the biggest local rock band showcases their musical prowess. Youngsters urban and semi urban alike throng every end of the year since 2000 to witness aspiring local bands in eclectic action. RTW is now an established music festival brand with a carnival atmosphere in Malaysia and has become the high point of the local music calendar for artiste and fans alike. RTW target audience are mainly; male, malay youth (aged between 15-25yo), urban & rural.
TM, through iTalk has been sponsoring RTW for 2 consecutive years - 2006 for RTW 7, where for the first time in history, Malaysia had 3 stages running simultaneously with different bands on each stage and a total of 51 bands performed, and also in 2008 for RTW 8
2008, sees a different side of RTW. For the first time, RTW went around to main colleges at market centres in search of a college band who will be performing on the same stage at the finale concert with local popular and indie rock bands.
For RTW 8, TM has leveraged and maximized Rock the World 2008 college’s road shows and the concert finale to push iTalk card and mobile starter pack sales and usage as well as to promote participation in the iTalk 7th Wonders of the World contest.
4th Annual Growth Innovation & Leadership Conference
Grammy Award-winning jazz vocalist Harry Connick Jr. returns to Kuala Lumpur and performed at Dewan Philharmonik PETRONAS (DFP) for the second time on 3rd - 5th March 2008. This event was proudly presented by DFP together with TM, and supported by NST, Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur and ntv7.
