TM CELEBRATES MERDEKA WITH STAFF
Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) today organized a treasure-hunt called ‘TM Kristal Race’ for its employees in continuation of its various Merdeka activities held in conjunction with the 50th Merdeka celebration.
Speaking at the flag-off of the hunt, Dato’ Zamzamzairani Mohd. Isa, Chief Executive Officer, Malaysia Business, TM said: “The competition provides an opportunity to employees to celebrate Merdeka together as a Company that has transformed the communications industry in the country. It is also aimed at strengthening the relationship and promoting teamwork amongst the employees, which should then become a daily practice.”
While its other activities such as TM Merdeka Millionaire programme, the mega slide projection, Cahaya Gemilang Menara KL, special promotions and radio contest are for the public’s benefit, ‘TM Kristal Race’ is skewed towards instilling the Merdeka spirit among its employees.
Dato’ Abdul Aziz Abu Bakar, Senior Vice President, Group Human Resource Management, TM, who was also present at the event, said: “Using the recently launched commemorative book “Transforming a Legacy” which traces the development of communications in Malaysia since the 1870s, the questions for this ‘TM Kristal Race’ were crafted to create awareness among the employees on the rich history of the Company in an effort to enhance their sense of belonging towards TM.”
Called ‘TM Kristal Race’ to reflect ‘Kristal’ or the Core Values of the Company namely Total Commitment to Customers, Uncompromising Integrity and Respect and Care, the race attracted 50 teams totalling 300 employees participated in the hunt.
The teams comprise employees from the TM Group, namely from the Corporate Centre, Malaysia Business, Celcom, TM International and TM Ventures. The teams will traverse Klang Valley on foot as well as use public transportation such as LRT and Monorail.
Throughout their journey, they need to search for clues and answer some questions with regard to Company and its history. The hunt also required the participants to perform few physical activities such as flying fox and eating ‘special’ food and the activities need to be completed before they can proceed to the next location.
Attractive cash prizes were given away to the winning teams where the 1st prize winner walked away with RM3,000 while 2nd place and 3rd place winners won RM2,000 and RM1,000 respectively. In addition, the 4th to 10th place winners received RM500 each.
