TM FLIES LUCKY WINNER TO ENGLAND

Ever dreamt of going to England for FREE? No? Neither did Zulkifele Soh until he won the Monthly Prize for TM Merdeka Millionaire programme, a reward programme by Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM).

Zulkifele, 37, a teacher from Pahang, today was announced as the 1st Prize Winner for June for TM Merdeka Millionaire programme. As the winner, he walked away with a holiday package to England to watch an English Premier League game for 2 persons worth RM15,000. Zulkifele has been a subscriber of TM Homeline since 2003.

“I can’t believe I won. This is like a dream come true!” expressed Zulkifele after being announced the winner. Zulkifele received his prize from Tan Sri Dato’ Ir. Md. Radzi Mansor, Chairman of TM.

The holiday package is one of the ten (10) Monthly Prizes that were given away for 10 monthly winners of this reward programme. The 2nd to 5th winners won a Visit Malaysia holiday package for 4 persons worth up to RM5,000 each while the remaining five winners brought home a 3G Nokia handsets each.

Held for the first time last year, this programme has been renamed as TM Merdeka Millionaire in conjunction with the nation’s 50th year of Independence this year. To date, after only 2 months since it was launched, the programme has received more than 200,000 completed entries from TM Group’s customers.

Speaking at the prize giving ceremony, Dato’ Abdul Wahid Omar, Group Chief Executive Officer, TM said: “Aimed at enriching and updating TM’s existing customer profile in order to serve the customers better through direct and targeted communications, this programme is yet another effort by TM to reward its customers. Furthermore, this time around, customers can submit multiple entries, according to the number of services subscribed which means TM customers have higher chances to win the fabulous array of prizes offered. We are encouraged by the current number of entries and we urge customers to come forward and tell us more about themselves.”

This year, TM is giving away more prizes that are even bigger and better than last year. TM Merdeka Millionaire programme offers up to 10 daily winners with RM100 cash rebate each which will be credited to the winner’s account, 10 Monthly Prizes consisting of overseas as well as domestic holiday packages and 3G mobile phones.

“Besides the Daily and Monthly Prizes, a special Merdeka Day Prize, a brand new Proton Perdana is also to be won, not forgetting the Grand Prize of RM1 million cash. So I urge TM’s customers not to miss the chance to grab all these fantastic prizes. Who knows, you may be our next millionaire!” added Dato’ Wahid.

In addition, TM’s employees can also play their part by inviting their friends and customers to participate in this programme. Employees can assist to fill up the form and submitting it via online. As the reward, each month the employee with the most number of forms submitted will win cash prizes.

For this month, Khairul Annuar Ali from Customer Service Management Division, Kuala Lumpur was the top winner, accumulating more than 600 entry forms. Dato’ Wahid gave away the prizes to the 25 Staff Monthly Winners today at the same event.

“Even though our employees are not eligible to participate in the reward programme, but they can still win through this staff campaign. The best part is, if their friends or customers win be it Daily, Monthly or the Grand Prize, they also win bonus rewards,” Dato’ Wahid explained.

It is easy to take part in this programme. To participate, customers can get a copy of the printed form from any TMpoints or Celcom branches located nationwide and answer some questions about themselves as well as completing a slogan on Malaysia’s 50th Merdeka celebration. The completed form can be submitted at those respective places or they can also send it to the address specified in the form. Alternatively, they can fill up the online form at www.tmonline.com.my and submit it via online which provides more convenience and reduces possibilities of error. A panel of judges will determine the grand prize winner and monthly winners.

The reward programme is open to all residential customers of TM who currently subscribe to TM Homeline and/or Let’s Talk packages and/or TM Home Prepaid and/or TM Net services as well as to all individual customers of Celcom (Malaysia) Berhad who subscribe to Celcom Postpaid and/or Registered Celcom Prepaid services.

To be eligible to participate in this program, customers must be 12 years of age or older and currently residing in Malaysia. However, those between 12 and 18 years of age are required to obtain their parents’ or guardians’ consent. The program is not open to business customers. Employees of TM and its group of companies including its subsidiaries and affiliates, advertising agencies and their immediate family members are also not eligible to participate.

This 8-month program began in May 2007 and ends on 31 December 2007.
