TM OFFERS MORE EXCITING PRIZES IN "TM MERDEKA MILLIONAIRE"

Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) again gives the opportunity to its customers to become a millionaire and win fabulous prizes with the second instalment of its reward program, the “TM RM1 Million Reward”. This year, the program is aptly called “TM Merdeka Millionaire” in conjunction with the 50th year of Merdeka. Launched for the first time last year, the program is one of the Company’s efforts to reward its customers. One lucky customer, Encik Abdul Razak Mat, a carpenter from Pasir Putih, Kelantan walked away with the Grand Prize of RM1 million cash, while three others won a Proton Waja, Proton Gen2 and Perodua MyVi each in last year’s program.

“TM Merdeka Millionaire” was launched today by YB. Dato’ Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil, Minister of Women, Family and Community Development.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Dato’ Abdul Wahid Omar, Group Chief Executive Officer, TM said: “With the overwhelming response of over 600,000 entries that we received in the previous programme, this year our customers have the opportunity to grab various exciting prizes including 3G mobile phones, holiday packages and a brand new Proton Perdana. Customers also  have higher chances of winning the prizes. This time around, customers can submit multiple entries, according to the number of services subscribed. This means, if a customer has a TM Homeline, a Streamyx account and 2 Celcom lines, the customer is entitled to submit 4 forms as per the number of services subscribed.”

Besides the main prizes, “TM Merdeka Millionaire” offers up to 10 daily winners with RM100 cash rebate each. This rebate will be credited to the winner’s account, depending on the service that they subscribe to.

“It is even more meaningful that this year, in conjunction with our 50th year of nationhood, we are also giving our customers the opportunity to express their feelings and thoughts about our nation’s 50th Merdeka celebration through a slogan in the participation form to instil a sense of patriotism among them,” added Dato’ Wahid.

He further explained, “Besides that, through this programme, we are supporting the Visit Malaysia Year 2007 campaign by giving away holiday packages as monthly prizes which is hoped to boost our tourism industry.”

“TM Merdeka Millionaire” programme is also aimed at enriching and updating TM’s existing customer profile in order to serve the customers better through direct and targeted communications. With a complete and updated customer database including the customer’s preferences, TM will be able to tailor make its products and services to suit the needs and requirements of specific market segments.

Commenting on the success of last year’s programme, Dato’ Ranbir Singh Nanra, Senior Vice President of Group Marketing, TM, said: “With the response that we received last year, we have enriched our customer database and it helped us to synergise with our group of companies to package better products and services to meet our customers’ needs.”

It is easy to take part in this programme. To participate, customers can get a copy of the printed form from any TMpoints or Celcom branches located nationwide and answer some questions about themselves as well as completing a slogan on Malaysia’s 50th Merdeka celebration. The completed form can be submitted at those respective places or they can also send it to the address specified in the form. Alternatively, they can fill up the online form at www.tmonline.com.my and submit it via online which provides more convenience and reduces possibilities of error. A panel of judges will determine the grand prize winner and monthly winners.

The reward programme is open to all residential customers of TM who currently subscribe to TM Homeline and/or Let’s Talk packages and/or TM Home Prepaid and/or TM Net services as well as to all individual customers of Celcom (Malaysia) Berhad who subscribe to Celcom Postpaid and/or Registered Celcom Prepaid services.

To be eligible to participate in this program, customers must be 12 years of age or older and currently residing in Malaysia. However, those between 12 and 18 years of age are required to obtain their parents’ or guardians’ consent. The program is not open to business customers. Employees of TM and its group of companies including its subsidiaries and affiliates, advertising agencies and their immediate family members are also not eligible to participate.

This 8-month program begins this month and ends on 31 December 2007.
