TM, AMBANK GROUP, MCMW AND AMCORP IN STRATEGIC ALLIANCE
Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) today formed a strategic alliance with Amcorp Group, AmBank (M) Berhad and MCM Wireless Sdn. Bhd. (MCMW) to leverage on each other other’s respective strengths to widen distribution network, enhance product development and innovation in order to increase market penetration as well as the speed of product offerings to the market.
To formalize the tie-up, all parties today signed a Heads of Agreement for a period of 10-year which will open new business opportunities between the Companies involved. And for a start, a Collaboration Agreement was also signed today. The Heads of Agreement spells out the broad principles of collaboration among the parties while the Collaboration Agreement is the first implementation of the various joint initiatives.

Radzi Mansor, Chairman of TM said, “This alliance not only signifies the direct benefits that would be enjoyed by all parties concerned, but this affiliation will ultimately benefit our most important stakeholders which is, our valued customers who can look forward to exciting offerings from us. This strategic alliance will also open a new avenue for TM, AmBank and AMCorp to explore joint-development initiatives in an effort to tap into new market opportunities.”
Among the initiatives under the Collaboration Agreement is the utilization of AmBank’s distribution channels for the sales of TM’s iTalk cards and reload cards. These channels include the ATM machines, vending kiosks as well as Internet banking. This provides greater convenience for TM’s customers to obtain the calling and reload cards while increase the usage of AmBank’s banking facilities.
In addition, an innovative co-brand card programme between AmBank and TM is also in the pipeline. The convenience of AmBank’s NexG Prepaid Mastercard and TM’s iTalk card will be combined in this new card.
Furthermore, loyal AmBank and TM’s customers will also enjoy further benefit with the incorporation of TM’s iTalk talktime and other products into AmBank’s loyalty points reward redemption programme. This will enable customers of both parties to redeem their points with TM’s products and services.
Michael Soh, Group CEO, MCM Technologies Berhad said, “As a Gold Partner and Card Distributor of TM, we have also been appointed by AmBank (M) Berhad and TM as Distributor and Reseller for the upcoming co-brand card program, which will be launched soon. This strategic tie-up will strengthen and reinforce our Group’s earnings. The recurring revenue stream generated by the programme will increase significantly over time through the launch of other creative co–branding programmes that are in the pipeline.”
