TM SUPPORTS NORTH POLE EXPEDITION
Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) today showed its support towards the North Pole expedition by contributing communication facilities for the expedition.
TM’s contribution of communication facilities amounting to RM100,000 include Celcom Xpax prepaid cards, satellite airtime, handphones and a special laptop called ‘toughbook’. Dato’ Abdul Wahid Omar, Group Chief Executive Officer of TM today handed over the contribution to Datin Paduka Sharifah Mazlina, the expeditor for the North Pole expedition at a brief ceremony held at Menara TM today.
According to Dato’ Wahid: “We are glad to assist Datin Paduka Sharifah Mazlina in her quest to be the first Asian woman to traverse both the Antartic and Artic continents and complete Pole to Pole mission. We hope by providing her with up-to-date communication facilities she will be able to communicate with family and friends back home as well as to send the latest updates from the North Pole to all Malaysians.”
Meanwhile, Datin Paduka Sharifah Mazlina said: “I am grateful for the support shown by TM towards this expedition. TM’s contribution is significant as reliable communication is especially crucial for an expedition of this nature.”
“We are pleased with this opportunity as this noble cause will not only put Malaysia on the world map, but also allow us to stamp TM’s mark at the North Pole,” concluded Dato’ Wahid.
