TM AND VADS GET HONG LEONG BANK IT MANAGEMENT CONTRACT
Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM), through its subsidiary VADS
Berhad (VADS), was recently awarded a five-year contract worth
RM40.5 million by Hong Leong Bank Berhad (HLB) to wholly manage
and maintain the banks network infrastructure.
Under the terms of the contract, TM will provide Managed Network
Services (MNS) for HLBs head office and its 198 branches
nationwide using the Corporate Information Superhighway (COINS)
platform.
COINS is a fully managed networking solution which offers
seamless connectivity as well as effective sharing of information
and database in a secured environment throughout the entire
organisation. COINS is a 3-tier network architecture with
a huge capacity of 10 gigabits per second. It leverages on
TMs nationwide fibre-optic infrastructure to provide
reliable and cost effective network services based on the
efficient Asynchronised Transfer Mode (ATM) and Frame Relay
Technologies.

technologies, centralised network operations, management and
support, which saves maintaining round-the-clock internal
support staff, and customized billings.
