INTERRUPTION OF TELEPHONE SERVICE IN LIMBANG, SARAWAK

Kuching, 23/3/2004 - Telekom Malaysia today announced the interruption of its fixed line telephone service in Limbang, Sarawak. The interruption, which started at 7.45 p.m. on Monday, 22 March 2004, was due to a technical problem in Telekom Malaysia's Limbang Exchange.

The affected areas, Jalan Pandaruan, Limbang Airport, Jalan Kubong, Jalan Berawan and Limbang Plaza have the following prefix numbers:

085 - 211XXX, and 085 - 217XXX

About 800 customers in the areas are affected.

Urgent repair work is being carried out around the clock. The service, which will be restored in stages, is expected to be fully completed by Thursday, 25 March 2004 at 5:00 p.m.

Telekom Malaysia apologises to all the affected customers for the inconveniences caused.
