TELEKOM MALAYSIA'S CONTINUED COMMITMENT TOWARDS NATION BUILDING

Kuala Lumpur, 18/3/2004 - In line with Telekom Malaysia's continuing commitment to enhance the quality of life of all Malaysians we are pleased to announce several initiatives that are now being implemented.

Currently underway, is the establishment of broadband Internet services in schools. Telekom Malaysia, working closely with the Ministry of Education, will provide broadband accessibility to schools throughout the country. 10,000 schools will benefit from this programme by the end of this year. This is in addition to our continuing efforts to expand the reach and accessibility of broadband services for residential and business customers throughout the country. The biggest beneficiary of these efforts will be the rural schools and SMEs.

We are also establishing more service outlets throughout the country in our effort to enhance customer services and to build stronger relationships with our various customers. The establishment of more retail channel networks will take on the form of dealer and business partner relationships, franchise, licensing or agency business models as well as Kedai Telekom. We are happy to announce that currently in the pipeline is the establishment of Kedai Telekom outlets in Serdang, Puchong, Putrajaya, Pekan and Kuala Berang. Details of other service outlet models will be announced soon.

Telekom Malaysia stands committed in continuing to play a major role in nation-building by implementing the latest in communication technologies for the benefit of all Malaysians, rural and urban.
