STREAMYX SECURITY UPDATE
 
Dear Valued Customers, 

Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) wishes to inform our customers that we are in the process of enhancing the security features of our Streamyx modems. As part of the security enhancement process, we would require customers to turn-off or disable the “remote management” function of their Streamyx modems. 

Customers can access the simple step-by-step guide on how to disable the remote function of modems supplied and type-approved by TM by clicking this link.

For users of other modem types, please contact your local modem distributor or manufacturer to disable the remote function. 

TM would like to thank all our customers for their cooperation in this exercise which is necessary to facilitate our ongoing improvements in service performance and quality. 

Meanwhile, as an added security measure to secure your Streamyx accounts, we strongly recommend customers to change your password regularly to protect your accounts against password security threats. 

We urge customers to remain vigilant and to safeguard your account details including your unique User ID and/or Password by keeping it secret and confidential so that your personal data are not compromised. Please ensure that you do not knowingly or accidentally share, provide or facilitate unauthorised or accidental access of the account so that there will be no instance of illegal usage by any third party/ fraudster of your account.  

TM wishes to alert all customers that we do not request customers to supply their Internet account information such as their user IDs and passwords for any purpose. The disclosure of such confidential data may be used by the fraudsters for illegal subscription of paid online services and illegal disclosure of confidential information.  

If you think your User ID and/or password has been disclosed to a third party, is lost or stolen and unauthorised transactions may have been conducted, you are responsible to inform us immediately.
